The Matterhorn isn't the tallest mountain in Europe, Mt Elbrus is. The Matterhorn lies on the border of Switzerland and Italy, so both may claim it as their own. The climbing party of Charles Hudson, Lord Francis Douglas, Edward Whymper, Michel Croz, Douglas Robert Hadow, and Peter Taugwalder Jr. and Peter Taugwalder Sr. were the first people to climb this mountain in 1865.
2. The capital of the country which has the highest mountain in South America is Buenos Aires. What is the tallest mountain in South America?

Answer: Mt. Aconcagua

Valdes Peninsula is actually the lowest point on the continent. Mt. Aconcagua is in Argentina, and Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina. Sugarloaf Mountain is in Brazil. Aconcagua is 22,800 ft. tall.
