5. I find myself in a Recreational Reserve about 70km north west of Melbourne looking at a strange rock formation. Horse races are sometimes held on the racecourse in the reserve and a famous book and movie were inspired by me. Do you know where the bloody Hell I am?

Answer: Hanging Rock

Hanging Rock is a rock formation caused by thick lava erupting from a narrow vent and congealing in place. It rises 105m (334ft) and gets its name from a boulder suspended between other boulders.
'Picnic at Hanging Rock' was written by Joan Lindsay in 1967 and was made into a film in 1975. The book and film are often discussed as the ending is left unresolved.
Horse races have been held there for over 100 years, but these days there are only 2 days of racing, New Years Day and Australia Day (the 26th of January).

Mount Gambier is perhaps best known for the Blue Lake, which provides the town's water supply as well as attract many tourists to the area. The noted ballet artist, Sir Robert Helpmann, was born in Mount Gambier, and the Robert Helpmann Theatre honours his long-time contribution to the performing arts. Mount Gambier, the largest rural city in South Australia, is a convenient setting off point for touring the nearby Coonawarra wineries. It is close to the Victoria/ South Australia border, and is almost as close to Melbourne as to Adelaide, its state capital.

8. I live in the middle of nowhere. It's a flat and boring landscape out here with nothing much to do. In the summer the only thing higher than the temperature is the number of flies. Still you may have heard of this little town it's famous for sending rockets into space and infamous for detaining illegal aliens. Where the Bloody Hell am I?

Answer: Woomera

Woomera was created in the late 1940s when the British and Australian governments decided they too might get on this arms race thing. From testing the Blue Streak rockets to, in 2010, being the landing zone for the Japanese Hayabusa mission (to collect samples from an asteroid and return them to Earth) Woomera has played its own role as man reached for the stars.
In its hey-day Woomera was populated by well over 5000 people, including a sizeable American military presence, but by 2011 the population had fallen to little more than 200 souls. Opening up of the massive Woomera Prohibited Area to mining interests may well see Woomera once again expand in the future.

Fremantle is one of Western Australia's most popular cities. Known for its heritage buildings and its cosmopolitan lifestyle, "Freo" as it is affectionately called, is a must-see destination for Aussie & international visitors.
They have an AFL team, the Dockers, who share a friendly rivalry with the other WA team, the West Coast Eagles. Fremantle earned a place on the international stage in 1987, when it played host to the America Cup.
