1. Who discovered the tomb of Seti I?

Answer: Giovanni Belzoni

He discovered the tomb in 1871. When he found the sarcophagus it was empty. Seti's mummy was found years later at Deir el-Bahri by Emile Brugsch.
2. Ramesses II married eight times. His successor was Merenptah. Who was Merenptah's mother?

Answer: Istnofret

Istnofret (Iset) was Ramesses other chief queen. All sons that he had with Nefertari died before Ramesses did. Merenptah was his 13th son.
3. Whom did Ramesses II appoint as Viceroy of Nubia around 1236 BC?

Answer: Setau

The temple of Wadi es-Sebua was built on behalf of Ramesses by Setau. From the eleven stelae found in the courtyard of this temple it was possible to trace the career of Setau and to find out what the duties were of the viceroy.

This is one of the spells taken from the Book of the Dead for King Unas. This spell was used to unite the king with his father "Re" for all eternity once he had died. Unas was the last king of the Fifth Dynasty. Reigning from 2375bc to 2345bc.
9. Who was the father of Hatshepsut?

Answer: Tuthmosis I

Tuthmosis I reigned from 1504 to 1492 BC. Hatshepsut married Tuthmosis II which was also her half brother,he reigned from 1492 BC to 1479 BC. Tuthmosis III was next in line to reign but he was too young so Hatshepsut became regent and ruled on his behalf for about seven years before proclaiming herself king and ruling jointly with him for another 14 years.
10. What was the Serapaeum used for?

Answer: Burials of the Apis Bull

The Apis bull was regarded as a living representation of Ptah during its life and with Osiris after death. The bull lived for about 15 years and when one died it was taken to be mummified and then went to the underground galleries of the Serapaeum for burial in a granite sarcophagus.
