Answer: Conqueror

A heavy tank of the 1950s armed with a 120mm gun.
'I came, I saw, I conquered.'
2. Boadicea, Crazy Horse, Shaka, etc.

Answer: Chieftain

Main tank of the army in the 1960s and '70s. Heavily armed and armoured but slow.
3. My ancestor was Marlborough

Answer: Churchill

A WW2 heavy tank. Had many variants for specialised purposes such as bridge laying. Marlborough was the victor of Blenheim during the War of the Spanish Succesion (1702-1713). Churchill wrote a biography of his ancestor.
4. War of the Three Kingdoms, British Isles (Civil War).

Answer: Covenanter

A cruiser tank of WW2 only used for training. The Covenanters were Scots who signed the Covenant (petition) against the introduction of the new Book of Common Prayer by Charles I.
5. World War One gang to the rescue.

Answer: TOG I

Prototype of a heavy tank in WW2. Obsolete before it was built. TOG stand for The Old Gang, a group of designers dating from WW1. There was also a TOG 2 prototype.
6. Time to send a nice letter.

Answer: Valentine

An infantry tank of WW2. The army divided tanks into three classes: light tanks used for reconnaissance; cruiser tanks used for exploration and fighting other tanks; and infantry tanks, used to support infantry.
7. Teacher of Herakles.

Answer: Centaur

A few used as a support tank by the Royal Marines, basically the same as the Cavalier tank. The Centaur Chiron taught Herakles (Hercules).
