Britain was the only country never to be defeated by Napoleon or to sign an alliance with him. Although they signed a peace treaty in 1802, which lasted for about 18 months, it was an uneasy truce, with Britain remaining opposed to Napoleon throughout.

Again, it was Admiral Nelson who destroyed the French fleet, with Napoleon accepting the General Mack's surrender at Ulm.

The battle was fought between the French on one side and the Russians and the Austrians on the other side. At the time each of these countries had an Emperor.

He was exiled to Elba in January 1814, but subsequently returned at the start of the Hundred Days. After his final defeat, he was exiled to St. Helena, to be as far away from Europe as possible.
