It was a dark blue Lincoln convertible. I was an 11 year old Canadian girl, but I can remember where I was when the President was shot in 1963.

In 1967, Louis Washkansky received the first successful heart transplant. The rest of the choices were part of the pioneering cardiologist team. Although the transplant was successful, Washkansky contracted pneumonia and died 18 days later.
