Answer: Monopoly

In Monopoly, you roll the dice and move your marker around the board. You make many trips around during one game. While it's your turn, you end up doing things such as buying properties or paying to be on someone else's. When everyone runs out of money/properties, except one person, the game is over and the person with money wins.
2. Always trying to get ahead in life. It comes so easy to some it's like there are special ladders they're climbing, while others tend to slip back down the chutes. What games does this sound like?

Answer: Chutes and Ladders

Chutes and Ladders first came out in 1943. You roll one die and move the number of squares indicated by the die roll. If you land on the bottom end of a ladder, you can go up. If you land on the top part of a chute, you must go down. The first person to the get to the last square at the top wins.
3. While there are those who barely dominate their own lives, there are others who try to dominate the world. Can you tell me what game this resembles?

Answer: Risk

In Risk, there is a board representing a map of the earth. It is divided into 42 territories that are grouped into 6 continents. You control your armies and try to capture territories from other players. The person who eliminates all other players wins.

Answer: Life

The game of Life starts out with you picking whether to go to college or jump right into a career. You spin the wheel with numbers on it, the number you land on is how many spaces you move. Along your journey you will get married, maybe have children, all the squares tell you what you will do or get. Although you may make it to the end first, the person with the most money is the winner.

Answer: Candy Land

Candy Land is a racing board game. Most common age range for players is 4 to 7. You pick a card and move your marker to the next space of that color. First person to the end wins! This game first came out in 1949.
6. Kings, Queens, and Bishops are always going here and there. Which direction will they go next, can you guess? Can you tell me the game?

Answer: Chess

Chess first came out in the 15th century. It is a 2 player game, one person on each side, moving their pieces one at a time, trying to capture the other persons pieces and reaching the other side of the board. Pieces move only certain ways (forward, diagonal, etc), depending on what they are (king, bishop, pawn, etc).

Answer: Operation

Operation came out in 1965. Take turns picking "doctor" cards which tell you how much money you will make by removing a particular part from the body. You are given tweezers and you have to remove the part without touching the edges. If your tweezers touch an edge, you are buzzed and your turn is over, you get no money.

When all parts have been taken out, the winner is the player with the most money.

Answer: Pictionary

In Pictionary, you have teams. One person on the team draws a card, then draws a picture to describe what's on it while their team members shout out guesses. There is a board with differently colored squares on it, each color represents a category, the color you land on is the category of your word. The first team to reach the last space on the board wins.
