"Prima Donna
First lady of the stage!
Your devotees
Are on their knees
To implore you !"
4. Who wrote the lyrics to "Phantom Of The Opera"?

Answer: Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe

Jim Steinman was originally approached to write the lyrics but had prior commitments.

Alan Jay Lerner then began them but died - none of his work remains.

Richard Stilgoe then wrote the lyrics but ALW didn't think they were romantic enough.

Charles Hart then rewrote the musical but some of Stilgoe's work still remains.

Tim Rice did "The Likes Of Us", "Joseph", "Superstar" and "Evita".

everything I want is here
If you're with me

6. With which musical would you associate Pelé?

Answer: The Beautiful Game

Pelé (Edison Arantes do Nascimento) is the all time top scorer of the Brazilian football team.

He is credited with being the greatest footballer of all time.

The international Olympic committee gave him the title of 'Athlete of the Century'.

FIFA has declared him 'the football ambassador of the world' and he has been inducted into the American National Soccer Hall of Fame.

He is also the only footballer in the world to have three World Cup Gold medals.

He titled his autobiography "My Life And The Beautiful Game."

Ben Elton chose his title from this as the musical's religious and political intolerance is played out amidst the background of the local football team.
7. Which of these is NOT from "Starlight Express"?

Answer: Perspective

"Perspective" is from "The Woman In White."

It is sung by Laura, Marion and Walter during their first art lesson. There are double entendres throughout the whole song which is supposedly singing about art.

"What's the reason I am here?
What is my objective?
What a stirring atmosphere!
But where is my perspective?"

10. What song is sung by Pearl?

Answer: He Whistled At Me

Pearl sings this to Rusty when she's describing the dream train she wants to race with.

"And then he whistled at me
He looked in my direction
He whistled at me
This could be my connection
All because he whistled at me
He sure knew how to woo me
He whistled at me
I'm gonna hitch him to me"

C.B. sings "There's Me" to Dinah after Greaseball has left her.

"Right Place, Right Time" is sung by all three Rockies to Rusty after he has lost the uphill final through cheating by the others.

It's a song about luck but also racism - the Rockies and the steam trains are black and it's implied that this puts them at a disadvantage.

"U.N.C.O.U.P.L.E.D." is sung by Dinah in a real country and western style after Greaseball has dumped her.
