Rachel was four and Emma was six. They were crossing the street with their parents and, when they got to the end of the block, Emma pulled away and back onto the street. A car hit her.

Rachel looked at old family pictures and noticed that in the pictures taken before the accident she had a doll. In the pictures taken after the accident she didn't. She thinks she dropped the doll on the road and Emma jumped back to try and pick it up for her.

There is a crack in the rudder and they're staying on the island while it gets fixed. Rachel and Tim's dad keeps complaining that the people he hired to do it aren't doing anything, meanwhile he tells Rachel not to complain about anything and to just be happy.

Tim is looking through binoculars, trying to see Sheila sunbathing. Rachel tells him not to, but she's actually glad that he's doing something that she thinks a normal adolescent boy would do. Then they see their mom kissing Will, and his hand is on her butt.

Tim is upset and wants to talk to Mango. He goes out looking for him, but he finds him at Eddie's, the bar, drunk.

They go away to cool off and try to figure things out. Their mom apologizes for what happened with Will, although she can't really explain it. Rachel mentions the thing with Emma and the doll, and her mother tells her that it got left behind in the emergency room.
