Conversations With God: Books 1-3 Quiz

I would probably categorize this more as "spirituality" than "religion", but this seemed like the most appropriate place to put it. The author is Neale Donald Walsh.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How does Neale communicate with God in this book series?

Answer: Neale writes and God answers through his pen

Actually, this was not intended to be a book. Neale was writing an angry letter to God and God decided to answer back through writing. Neale spends a good amount of time debating whether it is his overactive imagination or actually a presence communicating with him.
2. The first book in the series deals with our planet and the struggles that the human race faces.

Answer: False

The "letter" that Neale writes ends up being a trilogy and is broken into three distinct sections. The first book deals with the "self" or more directly, how to love oneself and right your own ship. The second book deals more with our race and a global level. The third book is about the universe and many unanswered questions that have plagued mankind for millenniums.
3. Why (in these books) does God say that he stopped talking to mankind?

Answer: He never stopped communicating... he just does not necessarily use words

Words are a very unclear way of communicating and if people are very aware, they will hear God answer their thoughts or questions in the next line of a song you hear, the next thing your friend says to you, or the dialogue on your favorite T.V. program. The key is to go beyond what your senses tell you is communication and to "step out of the box".
4. Everything in the physical world, including God himself, is purely energy.

Answer: True

Einstein was one of the first people to broach this idea. Everything that you see, hear, taste, touch, smell, and know (sixth sense) is really just molecules moving at different speeds and there is an invisible divine force that makes everything move. In effect, everything in the universe including you and me make up the being or energy force that we call God.
5. According to God in this book (and according to what Jesus Christ attempted to state in his limited time on Earth), what was Jesus' message to the human race?

Answer: We are all one being and equal

Jesus was probably one of the most misunderstood beings in the human race's short history. "Even the poorest among you can do all that I have done and more". Every person on this planet could achieve the same "magical powers" and perform the same miracles that he did.

He was attempting to state a similar message that Yoda did in Star Wars when he told Luke, "You must unlearn all that you have learned". Life as we know it is a cultural myth and that is what is meant by the phrase "The sins of the father are passed down to the sins of the son."
6. A built in law of the Universe is the Law of Cause and Effect. Jesus stated, "Men reap what they sow". You may have heard "What comes around, goes around". What is the terminology for this in a spiritual sense?

Answer: Karma

Karma is tied in with reincarnation. We do not live just one life and then go to "heaven" or "hell" or even "purgatory". We are three part beings: a body, a mind, and a soul and our souls are eternal because together, they make up God. Humans do have free will however and our deeds play out over this lifetime and several others. This is how karma works according to God in this book.
7. God states that there is intelligent life in the universe.

Answer: True

God states that the universe is vast and we are actually one of the more primitive cultures in the sphere of existence. HEB's (or Highly Evolved Beings) are discussed as races that do not know war, hate, rage and many of the things that are eating at the very core of our existence. He uses an analogy of the Universe as a school and states that humans are still in "nursery school".
8. Which of the following is an illusion although it may seem incomprehensible to us?

Answer: Time

According to God there is only one time and that is right now. There is no such thing as yesterday or tomorrow or even 5 seconds ago. We have constructed a powerful illusion and in the realm in which we live, it does seem to exist. However, when we do leave the Earth plane, there is no space-time continuum.
9. What is the name of the "region" where God resides? (The higher sense of God, since God is EVERYWHERE and this is not meant to be a trick question.)

Answer: The Realm of the Absolute

God created the universe so he/she could experience what he/she is not. That is the only way for God to understand what God is. This may seem confusing, but what would "Up" be if there was no "down". We live in the realm of the relative where everything has an opposite. In God's realm, there is only one thing: Unconditional Love
10. Which of the following is an inhibitor to Unconditional Love?

Answer: Need

Most humans confuse the terms "need" and "love". In our realm, love is conditional and often when we fall in love, we end up needing our partner. This is a main reason why relationships often fail. The other main inhibitors are expectations and jealousy.

The bi-polar term for love in our realm is fear. Where there is no love, there is fear. All negative emotion, including hate, stems from fear.
