Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who was the ruler of the Sith?

Answer: Kaan

Lord Kaan was the last Sith Lord to rule the Sith while they were still numerous in the galaxy. He fought against the Jedi Order on the world of Ruusan during the New Sith Wars. Kaan's opposite number in the Jedi was Lord Hoth.
2. On which world was Dessel born and raised?

Answer: Apatros

On the mining world of Apatros, a young man named Dessel was brought up by an abusive single father. Des would later kill his father by using the Force, and no one ever suspected Des of any wrongdoing. He was eventually forced to leave Apatros after killing a Republic ensign, where he was soon enlisted into joining the Sith's Brotherhood of Darkness.
3. Who selected Dessel as a Sith apprentice?

Answer: Kopecz

On a backwater world where Dessel was penalized for disobeying orders, even though he saved his fellow soldiers, the Sith Lord Kopecz found him and sensed that the dark side of the Force was strong in Des. He then took Des in as a Sith apprentice, where Des was soon given the name of Bane. Bane would become a promising student afterwards.
4. What was the name of the first Sith apprentice Bane killed?

Answer: Fohargh

Bane was selected to battle another fellow Sith student named Fohargh as part of the apprentices' training. During the fight, Fohargh was managing to battle back Bane until the latter unleashed a torrent of Force energy that ended Fohargh's life. From then on, Bane would actually become weaker because of this event.
5. Githany was the Sith apprentice who humbled Bane in a duel.

Answer: False

Because of his waning abilities in combat following his murder of the aforementioned Sith apprentice, Bane was soon challenged in another practice duel by a Zabrak apprentice named Sirak. In the fight that followed, Sirak defeated Bane, proving once and for all that Bane really became weak. Githany was another Sith entirely, but who proved to be more important in his life...
6. Bane was weakening because of his ______. What goes in the blank?

Answer: doubts

After he killed Fohargh, Bane wondered why he was wilting as a Sith apprentice. He figured out why after he was defeated by Sirak. It turned out that he was subconsciously afraid of himself, and he doubted if he could truly harness his own powers as a Sith.
7. Which of the following Sith helped Bane regain his confidence?

Answer: Githany

A former Jedi, Githany turned on the Order in order to join the Sith because of the Jedi's restrictions on romantic attachments. She was soon attracted by Bane's power in spite of his defeat under Sirak's hands. Along with combat trainer Kas'im, Bane was helped by Githany in order to regain his own belief in himself to eventually combat Sirak again and triumph, reclaiming his reputation as well.
8. Who did Bane ask about why the Sith dropped their titles of Darth?

Answer: Kas'im

Following a sparring battle between them, Bane asked Kas'im why the Sith dropped their titles of Darth. Kas'im explained that they dropped the title of Darth because it was apparently easier for Jedi to identify Sith. While Bane secretly believed that this just made the Sith weaker, he told Kas'im that he agreed.
9. Lord Qordis told Bane to stop visiting the Sith library.

Answer: True

As he was training to be a better Sith, Bane was frequenting the Sith library. His curiosity for the Sith's history got the better of him as he learned of the Rule of Two, which he believed was better for the Sith to live by. As a result, Qordis told Bane to stay away from the library from then on.
10. Who was the Sith Lord who inspired Bane to take up the Rule of Two?

Answer: Darth Revan

Darth Revan was a Sith Lord who founded the Rule of Two with Darth Malak. The tenets of this rule stated that there could be only two Sith at any given time; a Master and apprentice; one to harness the power, the other to crave it. This way, the Sith, as a group, wouldn't have to worry about betraying each other all the time in their war against the Jedi. Bane believed that this was the way to save the Sith.
11. Where does Bane go after he is denied by Qordis?

Answer: Korriban's Valley of the Dark Lords

The Valley of the Dark Lords on Korriban was the burial ground of long-dead Sith Lords. Bane traveled there away from the Sith Temple, hoping that he could find some answers after Lord Qordis denied him further access to the Sith archives. When he arrived, he found nothing, which was what forced him to eventually return just before the Sith apprentices' departure for Ruusan.
12. Githany kills Sirak, Llokay, and Yevra.

Answer: False

When Githany lured Bane to the Sith library after his return from the Valley of the Dark Lords, it appeared as though she had betrayed Bane for the three Zabrak Sith. However, it turned out that she was still on Bane's side, and she quickly helped him defeat the Zabraks by killing only Yevra and Llokay. Sirak was left to Bane, and they dueled shortly before Bane defeated him, coercing Sirak to beg for mercy before Bane decapitated him.
13. Where did Bane depart to after the confrontation with the Zabraks?

Answer: Lehon

Lehon was the homeworld of the extinct Rakatan species and their long-dead empire. The Rakata apparently had an alliance with the Sith against the Jedi back in their heyday. Here, Bane, titling himself Darth as he departs the mainstream Sith Order, travels to Lehon to acquire a Holocron created by Darth Revan.
14. Who does Darth Bane kill on the homeworld of the Rakata?

Answer: Kas'im

When Lord Kas'im tracked Bane down to Lehon, Kas'im first attempted to reason with Bane so that he could return to Lord Kaan's Sith Order. However, Bane refused the offer, proclaiming that the only way to save the Sith was to destroy them and replace it with the Rule of Two. A duel broke out between them, which resulted in Kas'im's death and Bane's victory.
15. Where did Darth Bane meet Githany after the duel on Lehon?

Answer: Ambria

Following Kas'im's death, Bane sent out a message to the Sith on Ruusan, where he stated that he wanted to return to the Brotherhood of Darkness and help the Sith defeat the Jedi, when in reality, he wanted to destroy the current Sith Order. Githany was sent as the envoy, and she and Bane rendezvoused on the world of Ambria.

However, she managed to poison him and leave him for dead, since his abandonment of the Brotherhood convinced her and the other Sith that Bane was no longer needed.
16. What was the name of Darth Bane's healer?

Answer: Caleb

After Githany poisoned him, Darth Bane crawled on his belly, near-dying from the toxin, to a nearby settlement. There, he met a disillusioned healer named Caleb who, at first, refused to help him because he hated both the Jedi and the Sith. But after Bane threatened to kill Caleb's daughter, the healer helped him out and cured him.
17. Who was the one Sith Lord who Darth Bane killed on Ruusan?

Answer: Qordis

Qordis was the one Sith who Bane killed on Ruusan. Qordis had wanted to die in a duel to the death against Bane, but deprived him of that, and his oxygen, by Force-strangling him to death. Bane did this after Qordis learned where Bane's true allegiances lied.
18. What was the name of the Jedi who killed Kopecz?

Answer: Valenthyne Farfalla

Valenthyne Farfalla was a Jedi Master who had a past association with Kopecz. Specifically, they knew each other because Kopecz was a fallen Jedi who converted to the Sith. Farfalla killed Kopecz in a straight-up lightsaber duel to the death.
19. How did Darth Bane wipe out the Sith?

Answer: With a thought bomb

Darth Bane managed to manipulate Lord Kaan into developing a thought bomb, which is a Force weapon that, when activated, can kill every Force-sensitive within the established radius of the bomb's build-up. Kaan managed to make a thought bomb that managed to kill nearly every Force-sensitive on Ruusan, which included the Sith and the Jedi who didn't leave the planet.

As a result, the Sith were wiped out and the Jedi believed that they finally defeated the Sith, while Bane survived and plotted his own triumph over the Jedi.
20. What was the name of Darth Bane's apprentice?

Answer: Darth Zannah

Zannah was a little girl who was one of the few survivors on Ruusan following the detonation of Kaan's thought bomb. She was found by Darth Bane after she killed two Jedi with the Force after one of them killed her friend, Laa. Bane titled her Darth and took her in as his apprentice.
