Nicola's favorite fairy tale was Marie-in-the-Ashes. Marie had wandered into faery-land, and became a pricess. Nicola's Maman had told her this story many times, and when Nicola found herself in the Queen's garden, she wondered if she too had found herself in a faery realm.

3. What was the name of the four Marys' chamber maid?

Answer: Eloise

Eloise was the first one Nicola really talked to. She told Nicola who everyone was as they walked out of Mass. Eloise had made a silly joke, and stunned Nicola by asking her if she too could become a court fool.
