Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Contest", what kills Bellos, the giant alien who cheated and brought the hoodaya into the Presidian?

Answer: Crushed by an elevator

Bellos was a Malonian and the most likely to win the Presidian (because he cheated and brought the hoods in), that is, until Holly and Swain crushed him underneath an elevator.
2. In "The Tournament" what happens to Sinon, Cardinal Cardoza's servant?

Answer: Drowned in two feet of water

Sinon was the murderer of Pietro's parents, under Cardoza's orders of course. He was trapped under an iron grating and drowned in a puddle of water.
3. In "Six Sacred Stones" who is the first man Wolf orders to shoot Black Dragon?

Answer: Black Dragon

Black Dragon was the major in charge of raiding West's farm and securing the Firestone. However, he failed, so Wolf ordered him to shoot himself for failing. Black Dragon refused to do so, and Wolf ordered Rapier to carry out the order.
4. In "The Five Greatest Warriors", what happens to Scimitar's face before he drowned?

Answer: It was blown up

Scimitar was Pooh's older brother, and was more handsome and narrow minded than Pooh. He drowned in the Roman salt mine, after Pooh blew off his lower jaw with C2.
5. Not quite a death, but in "Scarecrow" who tried to take their own life twice?

Answer: Scarecrow

'Scarecrow' includes the death of Elizabeth 'Fox' Gant, and Schofield's two subsequent suicide attempts. The first time, Mother wrestles with him, and convinces him to not kill himself. The second time he throws himself and Killian out of Killian's office window, but Schofield is saved by Knight and a Maghook.
6. According to CIA operatives, how did Marius Calderon die in "Scarecrow and the Army of Thieves"?

Answer: His submarine had faulty oxygen

It is very likely that Calderon will appear in later "Scarecrow" novels (I certainly hope so!) since Schofield's glasses, which were last seen in Calderon's possession, have mysteriously appeared in Schofield's apartment, suggesting Calderon himself has been there...
7. In "Ice Station", what technical device was used to kill Scott 'Snake' Kaplan?

Answer: Drill

Snake was a member of the ICG, a government organisation ordered to kill anyone and everyone who may or may not let anything slip into the hands of foreign agencies. This included Schofield's unit, who had come across a (fake) spaceship.
8. In "Area 7" a Maghook was used to kill one of the prisoners, the prisoner known as Goliath. What unique feature did this prisoner have that made the Maghook so effective against him?

Answer: Steel plate in his head

Goliath was pretty much the second-in-command of the escaped prisoners, after Seth Grimshaw, the attempted President assassin. Book II uses his Maghook to cave in Goliath's head after magnetically attaching it to his skull.
9. In "Seven Ancient Wonders" what was the original call sign of the first member of Jack's party to die?

Answer: Matador

Noddy, or Matador, was the Spanish representative in the coalition of minnows protecting Lily. He was sniped by the Americans right after West secured the Colossus piece of the Capstone.
10. In 'Temple' who was sacrificed to the rapas, alive?

Answer: Nash

Nash was the 'retired' official in charge of obtaining the idol and preventing the use of the Supernova. Unknown to Race (until the end) he was not retired and was trying to find the idol so that the US Army stayed part of the military.
