Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Each of the four Carsington books is humorously named after one of the book's characters. Which statement is true about the book titles and title characters?

Answer: The two titles refering to men are about Carsington brothers

"Mr. Impossible" is Rupert Carsington; "Lord Perfect" is his older brother Benedict. "Miss Wonderful" is the love interest of their brother Alistair and she who is "Not Quite a Lady" is the love interest of their brother Darius.
2. How did "Miss Wonderful" get her nickname?

Answer: all of these

Alistair's first thoughts on meeting her: "Mirabel. It meant wonderful. And she was truly--" She is also, he will find, a very committed and ingenious opponent to his plans, even when she falls in love with him.
3. What does Miss Wonderful tell Alistair in order to seduce him?

Answer: That she is not quite a lady

I guess Chase liked that phrase, since she used it for another book title! Mirabel is an heiress, but she doesn't tell Alistair that until later, and she had no intention of either going along with his plan or marrying him (at that time).
4. What's so impossible about "Mr. Impossible?"

Answer: Everyone, including himself, thinks he's an idiot, but he's actually extremely capable

It's Carsington family tradition to think of Rupert as a big, dumb ox, but he thinks well on his feet and is the perfect person to have along in an emergency.
5. What does Rupert, "Mr. Impossible", say when he is told that he's in love with Daphne?

Answer: "Do you know, I've been wondering what it was"

Rupert is always a little perplexed when it comes to the weird area of "feelings".
6. What do "Lord Perfect" and Bathsheba have in common?

Answer: They both lost their first spouse.

Benedict and Bathsheba were both previously married, with varied success. Bathsheba is the one with the scandalous past and money issues; Lord Perfect, of course, is perfect.
7. What does Lord Perfect say to justify climbing in to his father's study through the window?

Answer: Something seemed to be wrong with the study door.

He may be completely breaking the rules of polite behavior, but he's hardly going to admit it!
8. How does Charlotte try to annoy Darius in "Not Quite a Lady"?

Answer: Alphabetizes his books as stupidly as possible

Every title beginning with "The" goes under T, erotic Greek poetry goes under F, for foreign.
9. How does Darius respond when Charlotte tells him she is "Not Quite a Lady"?

Answer: He hadn't noticed

It's a romance novel truism that men can tell whether they're making love to a virgin or not, but Darius "wasn't paying close attention". Nor is he especially bothered to hear the news.
10. Based on the information in the books, is there likely to be a fifth Carsington story?

Answer: Probably not: the fifth brother was happily married when the series started

As of the end of "Not Quite a Lady," all members of the Carsington family are happily wed, including their parents. Still, we can always hope!
