1. Who is the main character of this manga? (correct spelling of his name)

Answer: Ginji Kusanaji

Whenever Ginji types a message on his pager, he always misspells his name as "Ginshi", because he is too lazy to change the Japanese character "Shi" to "Ji". This ends up saving him later though!

2. Who is the main character's best friend?

Answer: Musashi Kondo

They've been rivals for longer than they thought, apparently. Even though Ginji is a penguin, he was still more than willing to do some incredibly mean, yet hilarious, things to his best friend, as long as it was to help Minako. Musashi still does mean things to Ginji as a penguin, but he doesn't know his best friend is a penguin.

3. What happens to the main character in Book One?

Answer: He dies

Yes, poor Ginji dies in book one, and just before his date with the lovely Minako too!
In book one, he wins his debut boxing match, and the other two events never happen at all.

4. What animal does Ginji choose to be reincarnated as?

Answer: Penguin

He only did this because the girl he loves, Minako Sasebo, loves penguins and her dream, even as a child, was to one day live with a penguin! He is even lucky enough to live with her while he's a penguin.

Ginji is embarassed about always losing to a cat! Even though Shinnosuke is horribly mean to him, Ginji still helps him sort out his love life.

Ko and Musashi are both Minako's cousins and Linda is an evil pink penguin who likes "Gin-Chan". In the end, Ginji tells Minako that his childhood nickname is "Gin-Chan" (which is actually a lie).

Answer: Irie

Irie is now famous for penguins, ever since Ginji came along! Tanbata is a festival, Kyoto is a city in Japan and Hong Kong is in the wrong country!

Linda is the evil pink penguin, and Musashi can't hold a girlfriend for more than a day! Minako blurts this out when she accidentally gets drunk at New Year's and sees her cousin on her way to the temple. Of course Ginji was watching over her to see that she made it to the temple and back safetly.

9. Who is the 'genius' penguin?

Answer: Mike

For being a 'genius', he sure is stupid. For one thing, he thinks that "Satan", not "Santa" is the spirit of Christmas. Linda is the evil pink penguin, Popo is a cute little yellow penguin (black after his fur molts in book 15), and Shinnosuke is the evil housecat!

10. How does the main character die as an animal?

Answer: Hit by car

In Volume 15, the final volume, he decides to get hit by a car and save his love, Minako, from the same fate, rather then see her die. Unfourtunaly, he broke reincarnation rules, but the Bhuddist Monk/ Angel sacrificed himself so that Ginji could live on as a human after all, or at lest until he died from a real cause. Ginji and Minako were finally together and so our story ends!
