This name really gets on Vic's nerves, though it really is used in an endearing way. Vic is portrayed by Don Johnson. This was one of his first movie roles.

In this future some people and dogs can communicate with each other. Blood once told Vic that the reason that they can is because they had a feel for one another. They think the same way. The real name of the dog that portrayed Blood is Tiger. If you enjoy "The Brady Bunch" T.V. show, you'll notice that the family dog Tiger, is the same dog in this movie.

Screamers are radiation poisoned mutants who can kill with one touch. Vic, Blood and Quilla June are trapped in an old gym by a pack of roving men and their dogs. Blood comes up with the idea to wail like a Screamer. This scares the heck out of the rovers, sending them running away in panic.

Jason Robards Jr. had a very extensive career. He has been awarded an Emmy, Tony and two Academy Awards. Actor Jennifer Jason Leigh chose her middle name in his honor. Lauren Bacall was his third wife. He passed away in 2000.

The citizens of Topeka have been underground for too long and the men are now sterile. The Committee sends Quilla June to the desolate world above ground to entice Vic to come to Topeka. The plan is to use Vic as an involuntary sperm donor and then do away with him. Quilla June has ideas of her own.

She wants to use Vic to kill the three members of The Committee and then rule Topeka herself.

After Vic and Quilla June escape Topeka, he finds Blood severely injured from wounds received after fighting a dog in the gym. He's also emaciated, having only eaten a lizard since Vic has been gone. Vic realizes he loves Blood and he is more important to him than any one woman. The end scene shows a smoldering cooking pit. Alas poor Quilla June has become dog food.
