Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Scott Lang was placed into house arrest for assisting who of these?

Answer: Captain America

Way back when, Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne needed to shrink down and save the world. They left their daughter home for the night and flew out to stop a missile from destroying a city, but only Hank returned. Janet, shrinking to subatomic levels to enter the Quantum Realm and stop the missile, never came back.

When Scott Lang showed up and broke into the house, things changed. He went back into the Quantum Realm to save his daughter and, somehow, he came back. Janet could still be out there. And that's why Hank dusted off his plans for a quantum tunnel.

He thinks it's possible to bring Janet back. In the present day, Lang spends time with his daughter at home, performing an in-house heist and riding a fake ant, sledding it down the stairs and out into the backyard.

He accidentally kicks through the fence on the way down, triggering his house arrest anklet and forcing the FBI to investigate. The truth is that he only has three days left in house arrest, the remainder of a two year stint as part of a deal he made with Homeland Security following his violation of the Sokovia Accords in Germany.

He's not allowed to leave and he's not allowed to contact Hank or Hope.
2. Scott has a dream about Janet Van Dyne doing which of the following?

Answer: Playing hide and seek

While taking a bath, Scott has a dream that he's back in the Quantum Realm. In this dream, he has a vision of Hope being caught by her mother during hide and seek, but her mother looks into the mirror and seems to see something as Scott wakes up. He decides to call Hank about the dream and, that night, he gets drugged and absconded with by Hope.

She places his ankle tracker on a programmed and enlarged ant. The two of them head to Hank's unassuming, new office where Hank, working on new projects with his ants as assistants, fills Scott in on their situation.

He and Hope have decided to build a tunnel to the Quantum Realm so that Hope, in the Wasp outfit, can dive in and retrieve her mother. When they tried it for the first time the previous night they overloaded it, but in that split second, the doorway opened...and just after that was when Scott called. Hank theorizes that while Scott was in the Quantum Realm he, perhaps, entangled with Janet.

There might be a message in his head. That's why they need to act fast.
3. Which criminal, who holds a component needed for the Quantum Tunnel, decides to claim the technology for himself?

Answer: Sonny Burch

To get the tunnel working, Hank and Hope need a specific component, so they tell Scott to get ready; he owes them, after all. They don't notice someone watching them as they leave. Hope arrives at a hotel to meet with criminal Sonny Burch, who's been selling her pieces that she can use to help create the tunnel.

The two of them have a serious talk, especially since he knows her true identity. He takes her money but refuses to hand over the component, so when she moves to depart, she returns minutes later as the Wasp and fights his thugs until she gets the cash back.

At the end, she heads out with the component she needs, having one-upped the criminals with wings, size changes, and blasters. As Hope heads out of the lobby though, a cloaked figure able to shift in and out of an ethereal form attacks, aiming to take the component. Hank has no choice but to send Scott in wearing his own winged suit, and while Scott takes to it instantly, helping Hope by joining the fray, they lose sight of both the figure and the component...and Hank's lab, shrunken down and left in the van.
4. Bill Foster worked with Hank Pym on which of these projects?

Answer: Goliath

Scott convinces Hank and Hope to visit Luis and his team of ex-cons for help and while it takes a while to get down to business, Hope eventually realizes that they can track the location of her father's lab with a proper radiation spectrometer. The catch is that the only one they'd be able to get their hands on is owned by Bill Foster, a former S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague of Hank's who he previously had a falling-out with during a project known internally as 'Goliath'.
Hank and Bill spend their reunion arguing in Bill's office and it leads to a blow-up that only comes to an end when Scott looks out the window and sees the F.B.I. arriving, possibly for him. As they leave, Foster suggests that Hope toy with the defractors they already have in their possession since they could help them locate the lab.
Elsewhere, the person who phased through the fight against Scott and Hope returns home and takes off her mask before struggling into a sealed chamber to regenerate.
5. Where did Scott hide Pym's Ant-Man suit during his house arrest?

Answer: In a trophy

After leaving Bill Foster's, Hank informs the others that his great idea would never work since he got rid of suit defractors in the most recent model. Fortunately, Scott never destroyed his old suit like he promised the F.B.I. he would. Instead, he shrunk it down and mailed it to his daughter for safekeeping.

The only problem is that he hid it inside a small trophy he was given as a gift and his daughter decided to bring it to school for show and tell. Because of this, Scott and Hope have to shrink down and nab what they need. And it works.

As soon as Pym calibrates the defractor, they locate the lab's signature and follow it. While Hank waits in the van, Scott and Hope fly inside and find the lab waiting on a table, but the infiltration fails when the phasing woman wakes up and knocks them out.
6. The 'ghost' woman who can phase through solid objects goes by what name?

Answer: Ava

When Scott awakens, the phasing 'ghost' woman reveals that her name is Ava and she is happy to keep them all alive provided she can get what she needs from his head. When Bill Foster reveals himself, emerging to join Ava's side, Ava reveals that she is the daughter of another of Pym's old colleagues, Elihas Starr, who Pym had fired and discredited.

When Starr tried to continue his research and create a Quantum Tunnel, it got him and his wife killed in a horrible blast that destroyed his lab. Ava, the only one to survive, found herself afflicted with molecular disequilibrium, implying that all of her cells would tear themselves apart and reconstruct themselves every day to sustain themselves. Bill was by her side after the accident and he was the one who helped her as much as he could. S.H.I.E.L.D. weaponized her, giving her a suit and forcing her to work.

When S.H.I.E.L.D. collapsed, Foster took her in and built her containment unit, but it could only slow down the inevitable. She would die of her disease unless she had quantum energy and the message from Janet Van Dyne would be the way to extracting that energy. Pym believes, however, that doing this would kill Janet.

It takes a little bit of acting, but Pym manages to get himself, Scott, and Hope free by faking a heart problem and getting Bill to let his ants loose. They leave with the things they need.
7. Who is able to input the coordinates that can locate Janet in the Quantum Realm?

Answer: Janet

Hope places the last component into the Quantum Tunnel and worries that her mother may have changed during her time in the Quantum Realm. Scott assures her that her mother would never forget her on the other side. He gets a call from Luis about some plans, but after the two of them hang up, Luis and the guys are ambushed by Sonny Burch's men. Burch, seeking out Lang and Pym, opts to use Luis for his information (with some truth serum).
Foster and Ava, realizing that Ava's chamber and equipment won't sustain her for much longer, estimate that she has only a few weeks left without being recharged. Ava decides that she has to act alone. When she visits Luis' office, Burch is just receiving Scott's whereabouts, and she races off to the woods to get to him first. Burch, knowing he can't beat Ava there, calls in the Feds.
At the lab, Hank and Hope power up the Quantum Tunnel at long last, hoping that Scott will receive a message from Janet when they do. They get it, too. As the tunnel seems to power down, Scott gets behind the computer and changes the algorithm, revealing that Janet is able to communicate through him. Using subatomic frequencies, they're able to hone in on her signal and lock in. They need to act fast though; if they don't find her in the quantum wastelands within two hours, then she'll shift and be out of reach for, potentially, another century. But there's a problem.
8. Who enters the Quantum Realm to save Janet Van Dyne?

Answer: Hank

Because Luis told Burch and Ava Scott's location, they all have to leave immediately. Further, since the Feds are now aware that something is up, he has to head home to prevent them from sending him back to prison. He rushes off to make a reappearance at home while Hank and Hope power the tunnel down and sneak out. Unfortunately, as soon as Pym shrinks down his office, the Feds roll in and take the pair into custody. As one of the Feds steals away with Pym's lab for Burch's sake, Ava intercepts him.
In jail, Hank and Hope break free of their cuffs and prepare to use a shrinking device to take out one of the walls. Fortunately for them, Scott is already there. He uses the ants to deliver the Wasp suit and free the father and daughter without the cops noticing. Burch's men notice though, and they take up pursuit.
Ava brings the lab to Foster and they work together to make the Quantum Tunnel operational again. Little do they know, Scott, Hope, and Hank locate the spot and bring Luis in for back-up. The ants circle Foster while Hank suits up in his old Ant-Man outfit and prepares to enter the tunnel himself. He has fifteen minutes, and he needs to get Janet out before the timer runs out.
9. Scott needs to enlarge himself to collect the lab from which of these spots?

Answer: A whale-watching boat

Though Hank makes it to the tunnel, Ava locates Scott from his vantage point and commences a fight. It's all misdirection though. While Ava fights Scott, Hank shoots into the Quantum Realm and Hope shrinks the office, allowing Luis to grab it and pull it into the van. Scott shrinks and leaves on the back of a flying ant, but Hope and Luis come face to face with Sonny Burch and his men and a chase ensues through the San Francisco city streets. Using the ability to shrink and enlarge her van, she manages to stop most of them, destroying their vehicles in incapacitating crashes. Burch sends in a number of bikes as well, and Ava intercepts, joining in the chase. Using enlarged and shrunken items, she fights off Burch's guys, but Ava gets the office and drives off with it, ultimately losing the office again when Burch nabs it himself. Though Luis is able to get through the city using the hot wheel car kit in the van, Scott has to dive into the bay to chase after Burch who only makes it as far as a whale-watching ferry before getting caught. But Hank, still in the Quantum Realm, runs out of time.

As he searches for Janet on foot and loses his signal in the void, he falls to his knees...and has a vision. Worried that he doesn't have the answers, he dreams of wandering through his house until Janet arrives and uses quantum energy to stabilize his mind.
10. Is Scott removed from house arrest?

Answer: Yes

Janet and Hank return to the vessel and discover that they aren't able to ascend. The truth is, Scott, on the surface, has retrieved the lab and brought it to shore, but Scott, too big after diving into the bay, can't get enough oxygen He collapses into the water and Hope dives in to help him. Luis goes to enlarge the lab, but Ava takes the remote from him and does it herself, phasing into the building to get to the tunnel.
Hope manages to shrink Scott back down and revive him as Foster arrives on the scene. He's the first to enter the lab and though he tries to convince Ava that there may be another way, she casts him aside and enters her chamber, preparing to use Janet's energy as she makes her return. Scott turns off the machine and he and Hope fight her to prevent the worst from happening and, sure enough, Hank and Janet are able to make it back in their craft, emerging from the fog for their long-awaited reunion.
Ava rises from the rubble in the lab but Janet tells her to wait as she reaches for her. Using the powers of quantum energy, Janet is able to stop Ava's pain, albeit temporarily, and stop her from phasing. It's a temporary solution, but it's a start.
The Feds arrive and Scott creates a distraction while Hope and Hank retrieve their lab and suits. Scott is able, one more time, to make it home before the Feds, and since his two years are up, they remove his ankle monitor. Ava and Foster disappear, evading capture.
Hank and Janet enlarge a new house on a private beach. Scott and Hope take Cassie out to watch a movie at the drive-in, even if they're in a shrunken car and watching the movie on a laptop screen.
