The plot followed Dracula to London, in pursuit of a woman, Mina, who he believed to be the reincarnation of his wife and only true love. Dracula bit a close friend of Mina's and, as a physician, Van Helsing was called in to help. Van Helsing recognised the girl as undead and the search for Dracula began.
