1. Was Captain Sparrow standing in a boat towards the beginning of the movie?

Answer: yes

This was one of my favourite parts. The funny thing was, it didn't even belong to him!

2. Captain Sparrow paid the master at the dock 4 shillings to tie up his ship and not reveal his name.

Answer: false

He only paid 3 shillings to not have his name revealed and tie up his ship (which was about two feet above the water).

3. Finish this quote: "Mr. Cotton's ____... same question."

Answer: parrot

This quote was said in Tortuga as Will and Jack were assembling a crew. Mr. Cotton had his tongue cut out, so he has a parrot to do his talking for him. No one knows how he trained it, though. Captain Sparrow asked this question after not being responded to by Mr. Cotton.

4. What was Jack's response to Will saying, "You threatened Miss Swann."

Answer: "Only a little."

Jack threatened to kill Elizabeth if Commodore Norrington and his guards didn't let him go.

The prisoners would try to coax the dog with a bone to get the keys. Afterwards, Jack tried the same thing, but the dog got scared off at the last minute.

The pirates believed her, so they took her captive so that her blood could release them from their curse.

Jack and Will pretended to steal another of Commodore Norrington's ships, but they managed to get onto the Interceptor before the guards could catch them. Even though it was the fastest ship in the entire fleet, it still couldn't outrun the Black Pearl.

Answer: his flask

Jack grabbed the flask and tried to take a drink of it, but it was empty. However, the cannon shot did blow open the door to Jack's cell so he could escape.

Answer: true

He did this because he knew that he wouldn't be able to win against Barbossa, and also so that they could be evenly matched. Barbossa got quite a surprise when Jack got stabbed and stumbled into the moonlight.

10. What was the name of the ship by which Elizabeth and Jack were saved from the island?

Answer: dauntless

Elizabeth made a huge fire out of alcohol and other things when Jack was asleep to signal the Dauntless to help them. Of course, Jack wasn't too happy with the loss of the alcohol.
