He stepped on a rake. Link was walking around the backyard, not noticing what was lying on the ground. After he stepped on the rake, the handle flew up and hit him in the face, causing him to sit down quickly. Dave's dog then licked Link's face, seemingly to console him.

2. Link was stretching in the backyard following his long "sleep", but was startled by something in the sky. What was it that he heard?

Answer: helicopter

A helicopter can be threatening if you've never seen one. Everything in the 20th century was new and foreign to this very confused caveman. As the helicopter flew overhead, he screamed at it, then ran away.

3. When Link ventured out to the front of the house, who did he first encounter?

Answer: mailman

The first human Link saw was the mailman. They gave each other a startle, causing the mailman to quickly place the package he was carrying onto Link's shovel. Link inspected the package, removed the packaging twine, tossed the package, and kept the more useful twine.
