The characters weren't too far off from 'Pretty in Pink'. Spader and McCarthy were still playing rich kids partying -- they were just a little older, and Spader had turned to being a drug dealer. There is also a rumour that Molly Ringwald, Andrew McCarthy, Jon Cryer, and James Spader will be in a 'Pretty in Pink' sequel, in which Duckie is a nightclub owner, and Steff will do something to put Andie and Blane in financial difficulties. No word on if it will become a reality.
