Quite possibly one of the best acting jobs I've seen in a while. This is beautifully performed by Maggie Gyllenhaal.

2. Our main character seems to have great difficulty living with her dysfunctional family. Her father's problem particularly bothers her. What is his problem?

Answer: alcoholism

Lee seems to be really trying to appease and please the father-figure in her life.

3. Our main character also has a problem...one that put her away in a center to help her. What is her problem?

Answer: self mutilation

She was put into the "center" when she was sneaking a cut of herself while washing dishes and cut a little too deep. She even had a self-mutilation "kit" that contained everything from sharpened ceremic ballerinas to razor blades.
