In the beginning, Sarah Connor gives a monologue and mentions the computer controlling the machine is Skynet. She includes information regarding our story. Two terminators go back in time, one attempting to kill John Connor and the other is to protect him. By killing John Connor, he would not lead the Human Resistance to victory in the war against the machines.

When the T-1000 looks at the police car's computer under John's profile, it shows their last name as Voight. The T-1000 locates their home but John is not there. He asks his foster parents, Todd and Janelle, for a picture of John. Later on, the T-1000 kills both Todd and Janelle.

The T-1000 stops off and asks two girls if they have seen John. One mentions seeing John fifteen minutes prior and how she believes he says he is going to the Galleria. At the Galleria, the T-1000 asks two boys where John is and they point him in a direction.

He later asks two girls if they know where John is. The next person he asks is John's friend, who lies by saying he has not seen him. Right as his friend tells John a cop is there looking for him, another man tells the T-1000 where John is. John sees the T-1000 and begins running.

Sarah is up for her review with Dr. Silberman and mentions her goal is to be on the minimum security floor so she can receive visits from John. She further discusses with him how she is now denying the terminator's existence and her killing one ten years prior. Sarah asks the doctor if she has shown improvement, to which he replies that he knows how smart she is and that he believes she is just telling him what he wants to hear.

He feels if she goes to minimum security that she will try to escape. Sarah asks if she can make a phone call, and he denies her request. Dr. Silberman says he is going to recommend to the review board that she stay in maximum security for six more months. Sarah immediately attacks him.

The police are questioning Sarah for information regarding the terminators. One first shows her pictures of the T-800 killing 17 police officers in 1984. Another detective shows her images of the same terminator taken that day. This is where he mentions the location.

They then press her to help them since her son is missing, the foster parents are dead, and that they believe the T-800 is involved. Sarah refuses to cooperate with them.

He asks Gwen, an employee, if she wants coffee. She asks for a beer but he just laughs it off. Before putting in his change to get the coffee, Louis steps on the T-1000, who is hiding below the floor. The T-1000 comes up from the floor through manipulating liquid metal, copying Louis' appearance, and changes into him. Louis announces to Gwen he has a full house, to which she congratulates him.

He turns around and the T-1000 kills him.

While the T-1000 and T-800 go on an attack rage at Pescadero, he is not one of the people who dies. At one point, Silberman and some orderlies restrain Sarah so he can inject her with a sedative. The T-800 comes along and frees Sarah, then introduces himself to her with the phrase, "Come with me if you want to live." John comes face to face with his mom, Sarah, and tells her he is here to help.

The T-1000 comes and the T-800 shoots him while Sarah and John run for the elevator. The T-1000 runs right past Dr. Silberman after the T-800, John, and Sarah.

Sarah tells him to go down south towards Mexico. They get to a place where Sarah's friend, Enrique, hides them out, giving her a truck and guns to fight the T-1000. Sarah leaves the place early to go kill Miles Dyson, the head of special projects at Cyberdyne, the company that creates Skynet. She believes that, by killing Dyson, she can prevent the nuclear war.

The T-1000 reemerges onto the scene and hears someone speaking into a police radio. She says, into the radio, that there has been a call from the Cyberdyne building. She identifies two suspects as Sarah Connor and the T-800, who is still wanted for the murder of 17 police officers in 1984.

She informs police that the address is on Kramer St. Interestingly enough, the movie gives two different numbered addresses for the building.

Since he stabs her in the shoulder, the T-1000 has the ability to copy Sarah Connor. When he stabs her, he demands her to call out to John so he can come to her and the T-1000 can kill him. Sarah refuses and even curses him, right before the T-800 comes to do battle with him. In a later scene, John hears Sarah calling for him. He comes upon her but also sees another Sarah Connor behind this one. John takes a look at the first one's foot and notices it is liquid metal. He tells the real Sarah Connor, who is right behind the T-1000, to shoot.
