Elizabeth's father had bought her a new dress to wear at James Norrington's promotion ceremony. After the ceremony, Elizabeth and James are talking by the edge of a cliff. Elizabeth cannot get any air into her lungs because her chest is being squeezed by the corset she has to wear with the dress.

She faints and falls over the edge into the bay. She is saved by Captain Jack Sparrow, who somehow knows that taking off the corset would save her.

Answer: She throws the dress at Barbossa and says, "It goes with your black heart."

The Interceptor and the Black Pearl have just had a battle. The Pearl won and has taken the Interceptor's crew as prisoners. Will appears and makes a deal with Barbossa. Will tells Barbossa that Elizabeth has to go free and the crew cannot to be harmed. Barbossa says Will failed to specify when or where, so he decides to dump Elizabeth and Jack on the same island he left Jack on after the mutiny. Elizabeth does give Barbossa the dress, somewhat reluctantly. We see the pirate crew whistling and cheering when she takes it off.

Answer: "Will!"

Elizabeth is angry that her wedding has been crashed and she has no clue what is happening. Governor Swann asks to see proof that Beckett can arrest Will. Beckett accidentally gives him papers saying Elizabeth has to be arrested! Elizabeth is arrested too. Commodore Norrington is supposed to be arrested as well, but no one knows where he is (he has retired and is in Tortuga!). Will is later set free and sent to find Jack Sparrow. Elizabeth's father gets her out of jail and she goes looking for Will.

They eventually find each other, in a very unexpected way.

Answer: "James Norrington, what has the world done to you?"

After she escapes the jail, Elizabeth sneaks onto a ship, disguised as a man. She uses the crew's superstitious beliefs to her advantage and they set sail for Tortuga. Elizabeth sees Norrington there and ends up sword-fighting people to defend him. Then she hits him over the head with a rum bottle and he is thrown into a pigsty. Elizabeth feels sorry for him.

He had retired from his position as Commodore after his crew and ship were destroyed in a hurricane while chasing Jack Sparrow. He then moved to Tortuga and became a 'rum-pot deckhand what takes orders from pirates', according to Jack.

Answer: She handcuffs him to the ship.

The Kraken had attacked the Black Pearl and the crew had defeated it. Then everyone hurried onto the escape boat, knowing the Kraken would return and wanting to get away while they could. When Elizabeth and Jack are the last ones on the Black Pearl, she kisses him and quickly locks the handcuff around his wrist while he is distracted. Will sees this and thinks she loves Jack.

This issue is sort of resolved in "At World's End".

Answer: "He was a good man."

Everyone is silent and sad. Poor Elizabeth has tears running down her face. Tia Dalma passes around drinks and Mr. Gibbs gives a toast to Jack. Elizabeth does not want to tell the truth because everyone would probably hate her if they knew the truth.

Answer: Personal hygiene

Jack, Elizabeth, and the crew are searching for the chest with Davy Jones' heart in it. Jack has pretty much asked Elizabeth to marry him. She says no thank you and he claims that they are very similar. Elizabeth looks disgusted, and does not entirely agree. Jack is a pirate. He does not live by any morals, and he certainly does not wash himself.

Answer: Singing in Singapore

Elizabeth is on her way to Sao Feng's bathhouse. She is singing a pirate song to help her find Sao Feng's servant, Tai Huang. Elizabeth finds him and he leads her and Captain Barbossa to Sao Feng. We soon see that Will has been captured while trying to steal navigational charts. The East India Trading Company attacks the bathhouse, but they escape and sail off toward Davy Jones' locker.

Answer: A dress

Will has stabbed Davy Jones' heart and is now captain of the Flying Dutchman. He is giving Elizabeth the chest that now has his heart in it, saying it has always belonged to her. Elizabeth is to live on this island so Will can come and see her every ten years.
