Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Mewtwo Strikes Back", early in the film, Ash engages in battle with a trainer. Which of the following is an error?

Answer: Pikachu knocks out a Golem with an electric attack, despite its type.

Electric type moves have no effect on a Ground-type Pokemon like Golem, so the fact that Pikachu knocks Golem out with an electric attack is an error.
2. In "The Power of One", Melody tells Misty not to get jealous of her when she tells Ash and co. about the banquet, saying, "Oh, and Misty, try not to get jealous." In what way is her quote an error?

Answer: Misty wasn't introduced to Melody at the time.

Oddly, Melody knows Misty's name before she is ever mentioned by Ash. The same goes for Tracey, but Melody makes no comment about him.
3. In "Spell of the Unown", Professor Hale's report of the Unown is full of obvious errors, if looked at closely enough. What kinds of errors exist in Professor Hale's report?

Answer: There are grammatical errors.

Because the words are rough translations of the Japanese report, the sentences lack some important things such as plural words, lack of words, use of the wrong form of words, and even spelling "Unown" as "Unknown".
4. In "Jirachi Wish Maker", Dusclops is told by Butler in the Japanese version to use "Onibi", or Will-o-wisp in English. However, in the English version, what does he order Dusclops to use?

Answer: Capitata

Capitata isn't really the name of the move, so it is unknown how "Capitata" got into the script, or why all other translations of the movie does the same thing in having the Butler tell Dusclops to use "Capitata".
5. "Destiny Deoxys" is a relatively error-free movie, aside from minor coloration issues. Which of the the following statements is true about the coloration differences of the movie?

Answer: The Deoxys-clones are a different color than the Deoxys that created them.

While it isn't technically an error per se, the coloration is different, thus making it a coloration difference. Other errors include a slight Mudkip coloration error.
6. In "Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea", in a flashback showing a young Jackie, he is surrounded by Pokemon. Which of the following Pokemon has an error?

Answer: Altaria

Altaria's long feathers on its head are white, rather than blue. A subtle error, and you've got an eagle eye if you got this one right!
7. In "The Rise of Darkrai", Dialga and Palkia are battling it out in Alamos Town. Throughout the movie, what discrepancy does Palkia cause?

Answer: Its Aura Sphere move misses.

In the games and show, Aura Sphere is meant to have an infinite accuracy, much like Aerial Ace, Shock Wave, Magical Leaf, etc. As such, a missed Aura Sphere is a definite discrepancy.
8. In "Giratina and the Sky Warrior", many Pokemon make an appearance, though most are cameos. What two Pokemon has a voice discrepancy in a scene in the movie?

Answer: Shaymin and Magneton

Of Zero's many Magneton, the last one to leave the train after the train battle, involving Pikachu, Shaymin, and Piplup, used the voice of a Magnemite (or, a higher-pitched version of Magneton's voice). Also, Shaymin's Sky Forme uses Shaymin's Land Forme's voice in one scene in the Reverse World.
9. In "Arceus and the Jewel of Life", the Spiky-Eared Pichu, Pikachu, and Piplup are sneaking about the room on the beams near the roof. The buckets of silver water lay below them. Which Pokemon originally edges across the wall while standing on a beam, but in the next scene is seen on the beam above the silver water?

Answer: Piplup

Noticeably, Piplup's change of route in the transition of scenes is a scene error, as it is most evidently traveling across the wall, not on the beam that it is later found on.
10. Of the "D/P Trilogy" ("The Rise of Darkrai", "Giratina and the Sky Warrior", and "Arceus and the Jewel of Life"), which one has the most errors?

Answer: Giratina and the Sky Warrior

"Giratina and the Sky Warrior" have a total of six notable errors - Pikachu attacks an Electivire with Thunderbolt and seems to do damage, a coloration error with Piplup when pulled into the Reverse World, Shaymin's dark purple flowers (like when it absorbs pollution) in one scene despite not having sucked any pollution, a miscount in the number of toes Shaymin has in one scene, a voicing error in which Shaymin uses its Land Forme voice when in Sky Forme, and another voicing error in which the last Magneton to leave the train uses the voice of a Magnemite. "The Rise of Darkrai" has three errors, while "Arceus and the Jewel of Life" has only one.
