Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I was a delightful cowboy who disliked Andy's new toy at first but eventually became best friends with him. Who voiced me?

Answer: Tom Hanks

Hanks, born on July 9th, 1956 in Concord, California, landed the part of voicing Woody. Woody was a cowboy doll and he happened to be Andy's favorite toy for many years. When Andy had his birthday party, Woody sent some army men to the living room with a baby monitor so the rest of the toys could hear what Andy got for his birthday.

After Andy received all his toys, the army men turned off the monitor but then Andy's mom showed Andy a surprise present. The toys were unable to hear what the present was but Woody saw it was a new toy named Buzz Lightyear. Woody used R.C., Andy's toy race car to bump Buzz out the window in the hopes he would get lost, and he would still be Andy's favorite toy. Andy took Woody with him to Pizza Planet and it was at a gas station en route to the restaurant where Woody came upon Buzz. Woody and Buzz were caught by Sid at Pizza Planet and Sid planned to blow them both up. Woody and Buzz foiled Sid's plan and managed to make it to Andy's van on the day of the move. Hanks had roles in the films "Cast Away", "A League of Their Own" and "Saving Private Ryan".
2. My sheep provided me with much entertainment but I was also good with giving Woody advice. Who voiced me?

Answer: Annie Potts

Potts, a native of Franklin, Kentucky, got the opportunity to voice Bo Peep in "Toy Story". Bo was one of Andy's toys and she sat on Andy's nightstand every single night. When Woody felt threatened by Buzz Lightyear taking his spot of being Andy's favorite toy, Bo told Woody that although Andy was excited about Buzz, he would still hold a special place in his heart for him.

At one point, all the toys ganged up on Woody when they accused him of knocking Buzz out the window and Bo told them to stop the fighting. Potts guest starred on the TV shows "Men in Trees", "Boston Legal" and "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit".
3. I was the last toy to get a moving buddy. Who voiced me?

Answer: Wallace Shawn

Shawn, born in 1943 in New York City, voiced Rex. Rex was a green dinosaur who, despite his size, was afraid of a lot of things. When the army men were going to tell the toys what the surprise toy was that Andy got for his birthday, Rex knocked over the table where the monitor was placed and the batteries fell out.

The toys could not hear what the toy was, but Rex and everyone else eventually saw it was Buzz Lightyear. When Rex met Buzz, he told him he was glad he was not a dinosaur. Near the end of the movie, Rex got Mr. Potato Head as a moving buddy for Andy and his family's move to another house since everyone else was already picked. Shawn had guest starring stints on the TV series "Desperate Housewives", "Stanley" and "Three Sisters".
4. I planned Andy's birthday party like any good mom would do. Who voiced me?

Answer: Laurie Metcalf

Metcalf lent her voice to the part of Andy's mom. Andy's mom sold her house and she and Andy planned to move. She planned Andy's birthday and it was at the party where Andy got an assortment of gifts like a lunch box, the board game "Battleship", and Buzz Lightyear.

When Andy told his mom that he could not find Buzz Lightyear, she said he would turn up somewhere so Andy decided to take Woody to Pizza Planet. On the day of the move, Woody and Buzz made it to Andy's mom's van and landed in a box. Andy leaned over and saw them in the box and his mom said they were right where he left them. Metcalf had roles in the movies "Georgia Rule", "Steel City" and "Bulworth".
5. I was the evil kid who lived next door to Andy and loved to blow up toys. Who voiced me?

Answer: Erik von Detten

Von Detten, born on October 3rd, 1982 in San Diego, California, was cast to provide the voice of Sid. Sid lived next door to Andy but he did not have a passion for toys the way Andy did. Sid loved to disassemble toys and turn them into hideous ones. Sid was at Pizza Planet the same night that Andy was and he managed to snag Woody and Buzz.

He took them home and planned to blow them up within a couple of days. He strapped a rocket to Buzz but was confronted by many toys right before he planned to blow up Buzz. Sid got scared and ran off so he was unable to blow up Buzz. Von Detten had guest starring parts on the TV shows "Malcolm in the Middle", "Bones" and "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit".
6. I was the sister of the evil boy that lived next door to Andy. Who voiced me?

Answer: Sarah Freeman

Freeman, a native of Los Angeles, provided the voice of Hannah. Hannah was Sid's sister and lived with him and their mother. When Sid came home after he got Woody and Buzz, he asked Hannah if his toy rocket came and she said she did not know. At one point, Sid took a toy of Hannah's, detached the head and put the head of a pterodactyl on it and Hannah screamed.

At the end of the film, Sid became frightened of the toys that he blew up since they confronted him and he told Hannah the toys were alive. Hannah shoved her toy doll, Sally, in Sid's face and asked him if he wanted to play with Sally. Freeman guest starred on the TV shows "ER", "Without a Trace" and "The Practice".
7. I had a whole bunch of toys and loved Woody the best. Then, Buzz Lightyear came into my life and I started to love him. Who voiced me?

Answer: John Morris

Morris lent his voice to Andy. Andy loved toys and played with them all the time. Andy and his family were planning on moving and it was shortly before the move that Andy had a birthday party. Andy eventually decorated his entire room to reflect his love for Buzz and this ticked off Woody. Andy was distraught when moving day came and he could not find either Woody or Buzz.

However, Woody and Buzz dropped into a moving box in his mom's van on the day of the move and Andy was thrilled to see them again.

At the very end of the film, Andy announced that he had gotten a puppy and this upset Woody and Buzz since they almost died thanks to Sid's dog, Scud. Morris voiced Andy in the film's sequel, "Toy Story 2". He also provided a voice for a character in the movie "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and was in the film "Death Machine".
8. My most obvious physical characteristic was a moustache. I longed for Mrs. Potato Head. Who voiced me?

Answer: Don Rickles

Rickles, born in 1926 in New York City, used his voice for the character of Mr. Potato Head. When Andy had his birthday party, Mr. Potato Head hoped that he would get a Mrs. Potato Head but Andy did not get her as a birthday present. When Woody used R.C. (remote control car) to knock Buzz out the window, Mr. Potato Head found out that Woody was responsible.

When Woody was at Sid's house, he got to the window and yelled to the toys at Andy's house to help him and Buzz across. When it looked like Woody had killed Buzz, Mr. Potato Head called him a murderer and told Woody he hoped Sid fried him to death.

By the time the movie ended, Mr. Potato Head and Woody made amends. Rickles guest starred on the TV series "Murphy Brown", "Tales from the Crypt" and "Archie Bunker's Place".
9. I had a stretchable body. Who voiced me?

Answer: Jim Varney

Varney, born on June 15th, 1949 in Lexington, Kentucky, landed the part of voicing Slinky Dog. Slinky got along with the rest of the toys and was upset when Woody knocked Buzz out the window. When the toys saw Woody call for help from Sid's house, Woody showed one of Buzz's arms and made it look like he murdered Buzz. All the toys left the window of Andy's house disappointed in Woody, and Slinky Dog was the last toy to see Woody. Woody begged Slinky to help him and Buzz but Slinky rolled down the curtains.

When Woody and Buzz used R.C. to get to the moving van, Slinky Dog told someone to hold onto his tail so he could leap out and grab a hold of Woody and Buzz. Slinky held onto them but his body started to stretch and Slinky told Woody to get R.C. to speed up since he could not hold on for much longer. Slinky let go of Woody and Buzz and flew right back into the van. Varney starred in the films "Ernest Goes to Jail", "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "Daddy and Them".

He passed away on February 10th, 2000 at the age of 50.
10. I was Andy's new favorite toy and Woody called my flying "falling with style". Who voiced me?

Answer: Tim Allen

Allen, a native of Denver, Colorado, lent his voice to Buzz Lightyear. Buzz was a new toy and Andy got him as a surprise birthday present. Woody doubted Buzz's claim that he could fly and Buzz said he could fly around the room with his eyes closed. Buzz proved to Woody that he could do this since he did.

When Buzz tried to fly out of a window at Sid's house, he did not have enough energy to do it and he crashed onto the floor, losing an arm. Hannah, Sid's sister, put Buzz back together. Near the end of the film, it appeared that both Woody and Buzz would be blown to bits, courtesy of Sid's rocket, but Buzz released the rocket and he and Woody flew to Andy's mom's van. Allen had roles in the movies "The Santa Clause", "Joe Somebody" and "For Richer or Poorer".

He is best known for his portrayal of Tim Taylor on the TV series "Home Improvement".
