Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. MARINE YELLOW

Answer: yellow submarine

"Yellow Submarine" is the name of a highly popular Beatles track as well as an iconic film. Based on Ringo's track (written by Paul) from "Revolver", the film follows the Fab Four on their adventures to save the underwater, musical wonderland, Pepperland from the Blue Meanies.
2. USBACKSR

Answer: Back in the USSR

"Back in the USSR" is the opening track to "The Beatles" (White Album). It's a catchy pop satire that Paul began writing while in India. It segues into John's more placid "Dear Prudence".
3. *NIGHT* NIGHT

Answer: The Night Before

"The Night Before" is from the "Help!" album, and it was also featured in the film of the same name. It was recorded in February 1965, and it went on to be filmed three months later on Salisbury Plain.
4. YWITHOU WITH YOU

Answer: Within You Without You

"Within You Without You" is a song from "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". Written by George Harrison, it describes how he perceived the world after his studies of Eastern ideas. It includes heavy sitar and more Eastern drumming.
5. child

Answer: Little Child

"Little Child" is from the "With the Beatles" album. It was originally written for Ringo by John and Paul, but "I Wanna Be Your Man" was later chosen as his song.
6. R-----------A------- ---------O-------------D

Answer: The Long and Winding Road

"The Long and Winding Road" was written by Paul McCartney. He has said it was inspired by a road near his farm in Scotland, High Park. Post-production work done on the "Let It Be" version of the song sparked a rift between Paul and Phil Spector, the man who did said work. He made additions without asking for Paul's approval, and, well, Paul did not approve!
7. HO---LE HO--LE HO-LE HOLE

Answer: Fixing a Hole

"Fixing a Hole" can be found on "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". It is another track by Paul, who denies allegations that the song is about heroin. Instead, he says it's legitimately about fixing problems in his life that are holding him back.
8. TOMORROW? TOMORROW? TOMORROW?

Answer: Tomorrow Never Knows

"Tomorrow Never Knows" is a John Lennon track from "Revolver". With its lyrics and style, John tried to emulate the effects of LSD in song. The title, not a lyric, was derived from a Ringo malapropism.
9. REPAP -->ER

Answer: Paperback Writer

"Paperback Writer" only saw release as a single until compilations were released years later. Paul has said that he came up with the idea to write it after being asked by an aunt whether or not he could write a song that wasn't about love. While pondering ideas, he saw Ringo reading a book, and he decided that would be his subject.
10. DAY DAY DAY DAY DAY DAY DAY DAY

Answer: Eight Days A Week

"Eight Days A Week" is from the "Beatles For Sale" album. It was the first Beatles track to have a fade-in. Although it wasn't released as a single in Britain, it was in America. It hit number one like many before it.
