"Rockin' The Suburbs" was released on the same day as the September 11 tragedy.

First verse is...
"You took a trip and climbed a tree
at Robert Sledge's party.
And there you stayed till morning came
but you were not the same after that."
5. Finish this line from Carrying Cathy - "so obsessed was I and..."

Answer: self-absorbed

She worried it might come to life.
She stared for hours.
So obsessed was I and self-absorbed that I
Didn't see that she was
Crying."
6. Who does Ben Folds NOT "Rock the Suburbs" like?

Answer: Queen

In each chorus Ben Folds eludes that he is as popular as these people were, except that "they were talented" because they did not rely on computers to fix their music up.
7. Who is the guest artist on "Fred Jones Part 2"?

Answer: John McCrea

There was uncertainty as to whether McCrea would be able to appear on the album, but eventually he was allowed to sing harmonies on the track.
8. What song did Ben write which was a song about how much he hates recording studios and how you have to meet deadlines?

Answer: One Down

This song became a regular on Ben's 2002 "Ben and His Piano" tour of America and later appeared on "Ben Folds Live".
9. Who did Ben Folds tour Australia with in "The Three Bens" tour in 2003?

Answer: Ben Lee and Ben Kweller

10. What song did Ben Folds make a guest appearance in on Weird Al Yankovic's CD "Poodle Hat"?

Ben plays piano on this track. It is an hilariously cheesy rip off of the style (even form) of Ben Folds songs! Complete with cool falsetto harmonies!
11. What is the first track on the "Ben Folds Live" CD?

Answer: One Angry Dwarf and Two Hundred Solemn Faces

"One Angry Dwarf" is also the first track on the "Whatever And Ever... Amen" album.
12. How many songs are on this album which Ben Folds has not released on any of his albums so far?

15. Who wrote the song "Tiny Dancer" which Ben Folds covers on "Ben Folds Live"?

Answer: Elton John

The song appears on "Elton John's Greatest Hits" CD and was also covered by JPL (John Peter Lewis) on American Idol 3.
16. Which B-side song of Ben Folds does he tag on to the end of "Philosophy" on the "Ben Folds Live" CD?

Answer: Dr. Pyser (Misirlou)

"(Theme From) Dr. Pyser" was a B-side for the Ben Folds Five album "The Unauthorized Biography Of Reinhold Messner".
17. On the "Ben and a Piano" tour, what song did he sometimes bring a drum-kit out on stage to solo with?

Answer: Steven's Last Night In Town

The stagehands would assemble the drum-kit walking onto stage and Ben would start playing them while they were finishing assembling it. After a 30 second solo he would go back to the piano and the stagehands would take it off again while Ben was finishing the show! Classy!
18. What was the name of Ben Folds little known first solo album?

This was a solo project of Ben's back in the late 90's while he was still in Ben Folds Five. The album featured a lot of spoken word stuff!
19. In 2003, Ben released a series of EPs. What was the name of the first EP released?

Answer: Speed Graphic

Ben decided to release a series of EP's because he did not want to rush into doing another album before he felt he had enough good material for it. "Speed Graphic" was released on July 23, 2003, "Sunny 16" was released on September 30, 2003 (My birthday! What a present!) and "The Bens" was released in 2004*.

*"The Bens" EP was available for sale at "The Three Bens Tour" concerts in March 2003 but was not released publicly until 2004.
20. What was the release date (in the USA) of the "Ben Folds Live" CD?

Answer: October 7, 2002

October 7 was originally the world wide release date. Then here in Australia it was October 14. Then October 21. Then October 28. FINALLY, it came out on October 29 and I was the first person in Geelong to own a copy!
