Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Can you name the year that Blind Faith formed?

Answer: 1969

They formed due to the imminent bust up of Cream. Yes we will always miss what might have been with Cream but, hey, Blind Faith were pretty amazing too.
2. Blind Faith was formed by Eric Clapton after he had jammed a few times with a friend in his basement in Shere, Surrey. Who was this incredibly talented and famous friend?

Answer: Steve Winwood

Jack's squabbles with Ginger were the main contributer to the final split up of Cream. Jeff Beck should have formed a band with Clapton but did not. Jim Dumbar - oh how I wish...
3. Keith Moon was the first choice as drummer in Blind Faith.

Answer: False

Nope, it was Ginger Baker all the way.
4. Who left the band 'Family' mid-tour to join Blind Faith?

Answer: Ric Grech

And what a fantastic job Ric did on bass.
5. So with the line-up complete, Blind Faith went into the studio and recorded their rehearsed and jammed numbers under the supervision and engineering skills of Jimmy Miller. What was the name of their first and only album?

Answer: Blind Faith

Yes, I know, not very original but still a great album. The actual album cover has no title or name of the band on it. The name and title was on the wrappings.
6. One of the songs on this album 'Had to Cry Today' was covered by a blues guitarist of world renown. The bass line was particularly well played by Eric Czar. Who is the guitarist?

Answer: Joe Bonamassa

Joe is such an explosive guitarist but I still prefer Steve Winwood's vocals.
7. On side two of the original album there is a 15 minute long song called, 'Do What You Like'. Who wrote this?

Answer: Ginger Baker

Good stuff at 15 minutes and 20 seconds to be exact.
8. Eric Clapton only wrote one of the songs on the album. What was it called?

Answer: Presence of the Lord

Putting "Layla" in was a bit tricky, sorry. It was performed by Clapton in his Derek and the Dominos days.
9. Their first gig was huge, although Clapton felt that they had performed badly and did not deserve the adulation they received from the crowd. Where was this free gig held?

Answer: Hyde Park, London

A nice easy one.
10. The band reformed to tour their old numbers in 2011 without Ric Grech who had, sadly, died almost two decade previously.

Answer: True

Yes its true, although Ginger only guested at selected venues. Sadly, I didn't get to see them. I think that they were a band with so much potential but who can possibly be down hearted when they went on to form Derek and the Dominos, New Traffic, Baker's Air Force etc etc
