Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The deluxe edition of the 30 Seconds To Mars album, "This Is War" (2010) featured the track "Hurricane 2.0", a version of the "Hurricane" track with input from which rapper?

Answer: Kanye West

30 Seconds To Mars frontman, Jared Leto had originally recorded the track with West, but contractual issues between respective record company's prevented it being released on the original album. These issues were cleared however for the deluxe edition which also featured the band covering Lady Gaga's hit, "Bad Romance" and Kanye's track, "Stronger".
2. Which band released a version of their 2008 single, "Lost!", entitled "Lost+" featuring Jay-Z?

Answer: Coldplay

The remixed "Lost+" actually proved to be a bigger hit in the Billboard Hot 100 in USA than the original "Lost!". There was also another version of the song recorded, featuring just Coldplay vocalist, Chris Martin and a piano, entitled "Lost?" as well as a live version called "Lost@".
3. Snoop Dogg appeared on "Hangover" (2014), a track from which South Korean singer known for his 2012 worldwide smash "Gangnam Style"?

Answer: Psy

"Gangnam Style" was a worldwide phenomenon, hitting the top spot in over 30 countries and giving us the first video to gain over one billion views on YouTube. Sadly for both Psy and Snoop, "Hangover" didn't repeat the success, it's highest chart position being number 26 in the Billboard Hot 100 in USA and the video only managing 310 million YouTube hits.
4. The "King of Latin Pop". Enrique Iglesias, released "Push" in 2008, which was his first collaboration with a rap artist. Who was the rap star?

Answer: Lil Wayne

"Push" featuring Lil Wayne was a top ten hit in Romania but did very little elsewhere, probably due to controversy surrounding the video meant it got very little airplay in many countries. Iglesias did release a version of the song without Lil Wayne which was included on the soundtrack of 2008 movie, "Step Up 2: The Streets".
5. Which footballer's wife recorded the track "Full Stop" (2004) with rap star Nas in 2004?

Answer: Victoria Beckham

Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham was hard at work on solo releases following the break up of the Spice Girls, when her record company went bust, meaning that this track has never been officially released, although it is available as a download and for viewing on YouTube.
6. Which rapper appeared on the single, but not the album version of Taylor Swift's Billboard Hot 100 chart topper, "Bad Blood" (2015)?

Answer: Kendrick Lamar

When Swift released "Bad Blood" as a single from her "1989" (2014) album, she went all out to give us a memorable event. Not only did it feature the talented Lamar, but the video starred Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding, Jessica Alba, Ellen Pompeo and Cindy Crawford.

It seems to have paid off, as the song went to number one in Canada, Australia, Scotland, New Zealand as well as in USA on the Billboard Hot 100.
7. In 1998, Scottish rockers Texas remixed and re released their 1997 hit, "Say What You Want" with contributions from members of which rap group?

Answer: Wu-Tang Clan

It seems an unlikely partnership on paper, the soft rock tones of Texas vocalist Sharleen Spiteri alongside Method Man and RZA of Wu-Tang Clan, but it worked so well, to such an extent in fact that the remixed version, entitled "Say What You Want (All Day, Every Day)" was a bigger chart hit in some countries and in others, it charted almost as well as the original, including their native Scotland where the 1997 release hit number one and the remix got to number four.
8. In 2013, rap star LL Cool J reached number 23 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, when he appeared on the song "Accidental Racist" by which country singer?

Answer: Brad Paisley

The track was from Paisley's 2013 album "Wheelhouse" and was co written by Paisley and LL Cool J. The song brought both criticism and praise when it was released and provided LL Cool J with his first chart success since 2008's "Baby".
9. Number one on the Canadian Hot 100 for eight weeks in 2012, "Payphone" was a huge hit for Maroon 5 in many other countries as well. Who provided the rap that made the song so memorable?

Answer: Wiz Khalifa

"Payphone" was the lead single from Maroon 5's platinum selling "Overexposed" album (2012) and reached number one in UK and number two in Billboard Hot 100 in USA as well as its successful Canadian run. In 2015, Khalifa would go on to have 12 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with "See You Again" from the "Furious 7" movie soundtrack.
10. In 2016, pop punk band, Fall Out Boy teamed up with rap superstar, Missy Elliott to provide the theme song to which movie?

Answer: Ghostbusters

Unfortunately for both parties, "Ghostbusters (I'm Not Afraid)" wasn't really a hit anywhere, so nobody added to their list of chart successes. Fall Out Boy have in the past recorded with Demi Lovato and in 2008 released a cover Michael Jackson's "Beat It" with John Mayer. Missy Elliott has recorded with artists such as Genuwine, Big Boi and Lil Kim.
