Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Heavenly Day"

Answer: Patty Griffin

Patty was born in Maine in 1964. She's not only sung beautiful songs, but has appeared in movies, such as "Elizabethtown" with Orlando Bloom.

She earned the honor of being Artist of the Year in 2007, and won many awards, including Best Album for "Children Running Through".

"Heavenly Day" was actually used for a television commercial. You would think they would have used the song "Go Wherever you Wanna Go" instead, but that answer wouldn't have been in this quiz.
2. "Heaven's on Fire"

Answer: KISS

KISS has been performing since 1973, when four guys donned some make up and hit the stage as The Starchild, The Demon, The Spaceman, also known as Space Ace, and The Catman. Previous ones were The Fox and The Ankh Warrior.

"I look at you and my blood boils hot, I feel my temperature rise..." starts off "Heavens's on Fire", which was released in 1984. The song was written by Paul Stanley and Desmond Child. Surprisingly this song never reached top ten status.
3. "Heaven"

Answer: Bryan Adams

The song, "Heaven" was released in 1985. Bryan not only co-wrote the song, but played piano and performed lead vocals.

Bryan was born in Canada in 1959 and has won many awards over the years includingm the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002.

One of my favorite songs by Bryan is "Everything I Do" because it's really beautiful in sign language and easy to sign.
4. "Too Much Heaven"

Answer: Bee Gees

The Bee Gees had numerous number one singles in the United States and yes, "Too Much Heaven" topped the number one spot for two weeks!

All three of the brothers co-wrote the song: Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. There is a fourth Gibb brother, but Andy didn't form up with the trio, and opted to remain on his own.

"Nobody gets too much heaven no more...". Maurice passed away in 2003 and hopefully is singing in heaven, along with Robin, who also left us in 2012.
5. "A Little Piece of Heaven"

Answer: Avenged Sevenfold

This song is definitely a controversial one. Many people think the lyrics have so many different meanings, and some quite disgusting. I, on the other hand, will take it as a silly little song with dark humor and leave it as that.

A7X, also known as Avenged Sevenfold, is a band from California. "A Little Piece of Heaven" was released in 2007.

Other artists have the same title: Kevin Coyne, Charles & Eddie and Roger Ballard.
6. "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" (1990 release date)

Answer: Guns N' Roses

Guns N' Roses sang this song, but it was written by Bob Dylan in 1965 and released by Guns in 1990. Eric Clapton also released the song in 1975 while Jerry Garcia did it the song in 1982.

The lyrics are pretty typical in this song, as in, "knock knock knockin' on heaven's door', is sung at least 20 times. Easy to memorize and easier to record the song, probably why there are a few versions.
7. "Tears in Heaven"

Answer: Eric Clapton

Eric's son, Conor, fell to his death from a friend's apartment in a building in 1991, which triggered this song by Eric. The song was meant to be for the movie, "Rush" starring Jennifer Jason Leigh and Jason Patric, but the words came together to make him realize that the song was much more than just for a movie. As he put it, "it was his healing".

"Would you know my name,
If I saw you in Heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in Heaven?"
8. "Stairway to Heaven"

Answer: Led Zeppelin

The song was released in 1971 and was written by both Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. At an unbelievable eight minutes, this song is nothing short of perfect rock! It made the number three on the 100 Greatest Rock Songs by VH1 awards.

I never knew until now that the song was never released as a single. It was only released on an album, which is why it never made the single top selling record.
9. "Locked Out of Heaven"

Answer: Bruno Mars

Bruno, along with Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine, all wrote this song. Mars performed the song during the Super Bowl show in 2014.

The music video had all the things you don't expect to see in Heaven, smoking and drinking, no wonder you'd be "Locked out of Heaven"... "for too long...".
10. "Heaven Is a Place on Earth"

Answer: Belinda Carlisle

Belinda Carlisle started her career with the Go-Go's and shot to stardom. Ventured out on her own and came up with this number one hit in 1987. Belinda didn't write the song, it was written by Rick Nowels and Ellen Shipley.

"They say in heaven, love comes first..."
