Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "He Loves U Not" (2001, Number Two) and "This Is Me" (2001, Number 39)

Answer: Dream

At the turn of the millennium 'Total Request Live' - the daily MTV countdown show, hosted by Carson Daly - caused crowds to throng in Times Square and pop songs to take off into outer space. One outfit to benefit from the era's teenpop boom was 'Dream', a P. Diddy-shepherded girl band. Their two biggest hits (both of which were co-written by electro-R&B godfather David Frank).
2. "Black Horse And The Cherry Tree" (2006, Number 20) and "Suddenly I See" (2006, Number 21)

Answer: KT Tunstall

"Black Horse And The Cherry Tree" only became a hit after American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee performed it on the hit show.

"Suddenly I See" is featured on KT's debut album, 'Eye to the Telescope'. It was released on 29th Aug 2005 and was the third single from the album.

5. "Society's Child" (1967, Number 14) and "At Seventeen" (1975, Number three)

Answer: Janis Ian

"Society's Child" made her Janis Ian star at 15 years of age. A year later, it won her a Grammy nomination, but it also resulted in death threats because of it's references to interracial romance.

"At Seventeen" was composed much later when she was in her 20s. It wasn't about her own teen years but wrote it after reading an article about a young woman who believed her life would improve after a debutante ball and her subsequent disappointment when it did not. The girl was actually eighteen, but Ian changed it to seventeen to fit with her samba guitar instrumental.
6. "Take on Me" (1985, Number one) and "The Sun Always Shines on TV" (1985, Number 20)
