Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Complete these lyrics: "I say don't you know, you say you don't know, I say...?"

Answer: Take Me Out

Taken from their excellent debut, the self titled 'Franz Ferdinand'. This became Franz's first big hit, but it failed to reach number one, it only got to number two!
2. Which song contains the lyrics 'As I glanced once upon the foam...?'

Answer: 40 ft

One of my favourite Franz songs, '40ft' is also taken from their debut, and was a b-side for 'Dark of the Matinee.'
3. Which famous radio DJ is mentioned in 'Dark of the Matinee?'

Answer: Terry Wogan

"So I'm on BBC2 now, telling Terry Wogan how I made it" is the full lyric. 'Dark of the Matinee' was released in April 2004.
4. Alex Kapranos, Bob Hardy, Nick McCarthy... who's missing?

Answer: Paul Thomson

Alex provides lead vocal and guitar, Bob is the bassist, Nick sings additional vocals and also plays guitar, and Paul is the drummer. Together they make Franz Ferdinand!
5. 'Its always better on holiday', what song is this from?

Answer: Jacqueline

The opening track on their debut album. Bob Hardy provides that excellent bass riff!
6. Which of these is not a lyric from the fantastic Franz song 'The Fallen'?

Answer: It seems this boy's bathed in ridicule

'The Fallen' is definitely one of my favourites off the album 'You Could Have It So Much Better.' 'It seems this boy's bathed in ridicule' is from another awesome track on the album, 'This Boy'.
7. Complete this lyric: 'Here we are at the transmission party, I love your friends they're...?'

Answer: all so arty

Taken from the first single off the album, 'Do You Want To'.

Answer: Mercury Album of the Year 2004

Well deserved as well!
9. These lyrics are from what song: "I swapped my innocence for pride Crushed the end within my stride Said I'm strong now I know that I'm a leaver ...?"

Answer: Walk Away

Taken from 'Walk Away', the second single from 'You Could Have It So Much Better.'
10. And finally, which now very successful British band were once one of Franz Ferdinand's support acts?

Answer: Kaiser Chiefs

Hard to believe I know! Kaiser Chiefs' debut "Employment", was one of the most successful albums of 2005.
