Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. If I told you to 'Pause for Sixty Seconds', what would Keane want you to do?

Answer: Stop For a Minute

'Stop For a Minute' was the only track released as a single from Keane's 2010 EP 'Night Train'. While their previous album, 'Perfect Symmetry', had more of a rock vibe than its predecessors, 'Night Train' contained several tracks with a distinctive hip-hop influence, including 'Stop For a Minute', where the band collaborated with rapper K'naan.

In its home country, the song reached number 14 on the UK R&B Chart, and number 40 on the UK Singles Chart.
2. Do you remember 'The Place You And I Are Familiar With'? How would Keane describe it?

Answer: Somewhere Only We Know

'Somewhere Only We Know' was the third single released from Keane's first album, 'Hopes and Fears', and has been one of their popular and successful songs. Numerous artists have covered the song over the years, including Natasha Bedingfield, Lifehouse, and by the cast of American comedy-music-drama series 'Glee'.

The 2004 song peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart and 35 on the UK Official Download Chart.
3. Now we're 'Twirling', but what are Keane doing?

Answer: Spiralling

'Spiralling' was the first single released from Keane's third album, 'Perfect Symmetry', in 2008, although 'The Lovers Are Losing' is considered to be the first official single, since 'Spiralling' did not see a physical release. Initially released as download-only, the song went on to be one of the top tracks of 2008, earning the Best Track award at that year's Q Awards and peaking at 21 on the UK Download Chart.
4. That's 'More Favourable Than The Current Situation'. It's...?

Answer: Better Than This

'Better Than This' was the last single to be released from 'Perfect Symmetry' in early 2009. The song, like previous singles 'The Lovers Are Losing' and 'Perfect Symmetry', did not chart particularly well. Despite this, the album was a success and Keane's subsequent world tour saw them play over 100 live shows.
5. Fortunately for me, there are 'No Obstacles Blocking My Path', but how would Keane see it?

Answer: Nothing In My Way

'Nothing in My Way' was the fourth single from 'Under the Iron Sea', released in 2006. The track's release was unique in the sense that 1,500 limited edition USB devices were available containing both the track and the accompanying music video, plus some additional Keane-related features. In the UK, 'Nothing in My Way' hit number 19 on the UK Singles Chart.
6. Keane exhibits 'Flawless Evenness', but that's not how they'd put it, is it? What would they say?

Answer: Perfect Symmetry

Also the same name as their third album, 'Perfect Symmetry' only managed to peak on the UK Singles Chart at number 150, well below their previously released singles. The track, which was recorded in Berlin, was remixed by US outfit Innerpartysystem, despite not being released in the US.
7. Careful with that disc. You wouldn't want it to 'Retroflex and Split', would you? Or as Keane would say...?

Answer: Bend and Break

'Bend and Break' was the very last single to come from the first album 'Hopes and Fears', before the next album 'Under the Iron Sea' was released in 2006. However, it wasn't released as a single in the band's home country of the UK, instead hitting number 27 on the Dutch Top 40 chart.
8. This space here 'Resembles a Cot'. It's perfect for what song?

Answer: Bedshaped

'Bedshaped' was released as a single in 2004, and was the third track to be released as such from 'Hopes and Fears'. It managed to reach number two on the Belgian Ultratip Wallonia chart, number seven on the Danish Tracklisten cart, and number ten on the UK Singles Chart. According to the song's writer, Tim Rice-Oxley, 'Bedshaped' is an allegory for being old and alone, waiting for someone you know to come back.
9. Oh no! 'All People Are Transforming'! What's happening to them?

Answer: Everybody's Changing

2003 saw the release of Keane's second single from 'Hopes and Fears', 'Everybody's Changing'. It soared to number four on the UK Singles Chart, and saw considerable success when it was covered by Lily Allen and featured in an episode of US medical comedy/drama 'Scrubs'.
10. I just had 'A Terrible Fantasy'. Wait, that's not right. Keane, help me out here. What is it?

Answer: A Bad Dream

'A Bad Dream' was Keane's first single of 2007, and the fifth to be lifted from 'Under the Iron Sea'. Despite being used frequently in several US television programmes, it only managed to reach number 23 on the UK Singles Chart. It fared better in Russia, peaking at number 14 on the Russian Singles Chart.
