 "Glamorous Indie Rock 'N' Roll" was inspired by the Cafe Espresso Roma, a place where the Killers played a lot of early gigs.

 "The Ballad of Michael Valentine" was loosely based on the real Michael Valentine, a musician in three of Killers drummer Ronnie Vannucci's former bands. Michael is also a professional gambler, son of Rod Pardey, Sr. Michael's real name is Rod Pardey, Jr.
19. Who did lead vocalist Brandon Flowers write "Where Is She?" about?

Answer: A young murder victim

 While the Killers were touring in Scotland, they heard the story of Jodi Jones, a 14-year-old girl who had been murdered by her boyfriend. "Where Is She?" is written from her mother's perspective. They have only played it live a few times due to an outcry from the Scottish press. This is most likely why it hasn't appeared on a CD or single.
20. Which song was on the Killers' first demo CD?

Answer: Desperate

 Guitarist Dave Keuning sent the first demo CD to three local alternative music magazines, and only one of them ("Las Vegas CityLife") actually took notice of it and even put in a small column about it. The other tracks on their demo CD included "Mr. Brightside" and "Under the Gun".
21. Which of these songs is part of the murder trilogy?

Answer: Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf

 The murder trilogy is made up of "Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf", "Midnight Show", and "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine". The Killers have thought about making a long-form music video with these three songs and have gotten the green light from Island Records, but as of early 2007, there has been no word about it yet. "Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf" has not been released on any CDs or singles yet.
22. Which national capital is mentioned in "Under the Gun"?

Answer: London

 The line is "Stupid on the streets of London". However, I heard a live version where "London" was replaced with "Berlin" (I don't know why), but on the album version, it's London.
23. Which place is NOT mentioned in "The Ballad of Michael Valentine"?

Answer: Houston

 The lines are "We took a trip to New Orleans", "We finally caught a train to Memphis", and "Although my heart's in Mexico". Other places mentioned in the song include Dallas and North Dakota.
24. What was the original name of the song that eventually became "Read My Mind"?

Answer: Little Angela

 Alan Moulder, the Killers' producer, didn't think the lyrics were good enough, saying "We're trying to make 'Peggy Sue' into 'With or Without You'", so the Killers tried out some new melodies, and in a couple hours, "Read My Mind" was born.
25. Which song did the Killers record as a part of the fight against AIDS?

Answer: A Great Big Sled

 "A Great Big Sled" was released on December 5, 2006 on iTunes, and all the proceeds went to Bono's Project RED campaign.
