Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Eyes Without A Face" was a single release from Billy Idol's 1983 "Rebel Yell" album . The chorus begins with the title being sung in which foreign language?

Answer: French

The beginning of the chorus is "Les yeux sans visage", French for "Eyes Without a Face". The "Les yeux sans visage" section was sung by Perri Lister on the recording when it was tracked at Electric Lady Studios in New York. Idol co-wrote the tune with with guitar player Steve Stevens. The single peaked at Number Four on the US Billboard chart in 1984.
The video for "Eyes Without A Face" was nominated at the MTV Video Music Awards in 1984 for "Best Cinematography" and "Best Editing". While filming the video Billy's eyes became temporarily damaged and he passed out from exhaustion.
"Les yeux sans visage" was also the title of a 1960 french film directed by Georges Franju.
2. "Green Eyed Lady" peaked at Number Three on the US Billboard chart in 1970. The single was from the eponymous debut album from which band?

Answer: Sugar Loaf

Sugar Loaf founding member Jerry Corbetta composed "Green Eyed Lady" with Dave Riordan. Sugar Loaf was originally named Chocolate Hair but changed the band's name to Sugar Loaf after a mountain near Boulder, Colorado, before recording their first album.
They had another US Top Ten hit with "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You" in 1975 and broke up the same year.
Jerry Corbetta went on to work with Disco-Tex and the Sex-O-Lettes and The Four Seasons.
"(I Know) I'm Losing You" was a 1970 single by Rare Earth. The Marmalade took "Reflections of My Life" to Number Ten the same year. "My Baby Loves Lovin'" went to Number 13 for White Plains in 1970.
3. "My Eyes Adored You" was Frankie Valli's first Number One US single as a solo artist.

Answer: True

After shopping "My Eyes Adored You" to several labels without success Valli eventually made a deal with Private Stock Records. The label would only release the song if it had Valli's name on it, not The Four Seasons. It was released in late 1974 and topped the Billboard Hot 100 in March of the following year.
Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan composed the song with the working title "Blue Eyes in Georgia". Even when it was retitled "My Eyes Adored You" The Four Seasons' label declined to release it, prompting Valli to shop it to other labels.
"My Eyes Adored You" does appear in some Four Season compilation discs.
Ironically after being at the Number One spot for only a week the song was bumped from the top of the charts by "Lady Marmalade", a song also written by Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan.

When The Runaways disbanded in 1979 guitarist/vocalist Lita Ford embarked on successful solo career.
