Written by the famous song-writing team of Leiber and Stoller, "Lucky Lips" was first recorded by Ruth Brown in 1957.

The Cliff Richard version reached number four in the British charts and sold 300,000 copies. He also recorded a version with German lyrics, "Rote Lippen Soll Man Küssen", which sold well over 1,000,000 copies.
