Answer: Steve Peregrine Took

Steve Peregrine Took was the odd bongo man for the early two man lineup of the band. Steve Took eventually left and was replaced by Mickey Finn. For T.Rex album 'Electric Warrior' the lineup was extended to include Currie and Legend.

David Bowie and Marc Bolan knew each other while struggling in the UK music scene. Marc shot to the top first, but Bowie eventually eclipsed him due to his ability to continually reinvent himself. Years earlier, Bowie was told that out of Bolan, himself and one other that he'd be the only survivor. This was tragically proved true after Bolan's death in a car accident in 1977.

June Bolan was Marc's wife, though the marriage ended with Marc's affair with American soul singer Gloria Jones. Jones and Bolan had a son, Rolan, who was two at the time of his father's death.

Answer: Dandy In The Underworld

'Dandy in the Underworld', and it's title track, showed that Marc Bolan was well on his way back from the drug and alcohol induced abyss. Unfortunately, it was also to be his last album, released only a few months before his death.

Despite his lifelong love of cars, and the many songs he wrote or performed about them, he never learned how to drive one. He was a passenger that fateful night when Gloria lost control of the mini they were driving, taking away one of the most innovative talents of the 1970s.
