Answer: 1993

Matt recorded his first album, "Please", when he was a sophomore in college.
2. What song did Matt sing a cover of for the "American Wedding" soundtrack?

Answer: Laid

The song "Laid" was originally recorded by the band James. Matt often covers "Starfish and Coffee", a Prince tune, in concert. "Any Other Girl" is on the "American Wedding" soundtrack, but was recorded by NIJ.
3. "When Everything Meant Everything" is a title of one of Matt's albums. What song contains that line?

Answer: Sing Me Sweet

The EP "When Everything Meant Everything" was released in November of 2002. The album "Beneath These Fireworks", released in October of 2003 contains the song "Sing Me Sweet" in which Matt sings this line.
4. Complete the lyric: "I do love the glow you get when...."

Answer: you're told word for word how to think for yourself.

This biter comes from the song "More Than This". It's lyrics like these that give Matt his *ahem* charm. :)
5. How many songs from the album "Beneath These Fireworks" were found on Matt's previous albums?

Answer: 5

"Bent", "Pretty the World", and "Weight of it All" were on "When Everything Meant Everything". "Lucky Boy" and "Little Victories" were on "Still Waiting For Spring".
6. What is the missing lyric from the song "Angel": "Me and _____, we never could agree"?

Answer: gravity

Oh, come on... You were thinking lactose, admit it! Well with how random some of Matt's lyrics are it's not inconceivable.
7. Who did a duet with Matt on the song "Loud"?

Answer: Ellen Dudley

The other choices have toured with him and/or contribute vocals to other songs.
8. In the song "Answering Machine", Matt sings: "And maybe, I don't need _____ after all". Which word completes the lyric?

This is a great song in concert. The audience gets to sing "I could fall alone if all if I could fall away." Don't ask what this line means, I don't think that Matt even knows.
9. Complete the lyric: "What I wear like church clothes, you wear just like...".

Answer: jewelry

"Church Clothes" appeared on the albums "Ernst" and "Not Colored Too Perfect".
