Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 1984, "Maximum Rock 'n' Roll". Which song ended with the lyrics "I bet that I look all fried ... Until the day that I die"?

Answer: ID

1984 saw the release of the band's first album, "Maximum Rock 'n' Roll". The song "ID" is the fourth track, and as per many NOFX songs, refers at points to the pressures of society.
2. 1988, The year of "Liberal Animation". Finish these lyrics from the song "Freedumb": "Profanity's a ____ that you cannot take away."

Answer: tool

Yes, profanity is a tool that no one can take away! This 1988 song only helps to prove that freedom of expression is "Just another farce in American politics".
3. From "Ribbed", what song are the lyrics "So it seems that our dreams will never come to be, How could such a stupid thing destroy humanity?" from?

Answer: just the flu

Ahh... "Just The Flu", that, according to NOFX will be the message sent to other worlds after our own self-caused extinction. A premonition of the future? Or perhaps simply an idea of the past?...
4. 1991, did the song "Vanilla Sex" on the album "S&M Airlines" feature the lyrics, "The government's trying to get into your bedroom"?

Answer: Yes

Yet another case of a twisted big brother... "Vanilla Sex" reminds us all that we really have no privacy in this messed up world. No methods of our own... According to NOFX, we are only allowed to do what the government and society deems appropriate.
5. 1992, the year of "The Longest Line", and "White Trash, Two Heebs, and a Bean". Finish these lyrics from "The Longest Line"'s "Stranded": "Don't be fooled by _________, They're worth a thousand lies".

Answer: teardrops

Broken promises, or one twisted relationship... "Stranded" is about it all, but "Don't be fooled by teardrops", because all they ever are worth is a "thousand lies".
6. "White Trash, Two Heebs, and a Bean" featured a song starring two females who in later albums had their own songs. Who were they?

Answer: Liza and Louise

Ahh... Liza and Louise... I'll let you discover their story for yourself... All I can tell ya' is that "Liza's had enough with men".
7. "Punk in Drublic" was released in 1994. What type of footwear did Jeff wear?

Answer: Birkenstocks

Jeff doesn't just wear Birkenstocks... He wears a tye dyed Rancid shirt! But, "Is he a jerk? No! He's just confused"!
8. In 1996 an album was released known as "Funk The Kids". In the song "Murder The Government", what do they want to see burn?

Answer: The constitution

Well anyone who knows this album, knows that "Funk The Kids" isn't the true title, but I ammended it for this quiz. "Murder the Government" seems like a pretty self-explanantory song title, but in case you didn't pick up on it's intentions... The song is about being fed-up with the American government and society.
9. In late 1996, "Heavy Petting Zoo/Eating Lamb" was released. Finish these lyrics from "Hotdog in a Hallway": "I feel so cozy safe and warm, she's my ________".

Answer: insulation

What can I say? "Hotdog in a Hallway" is just another one of those messed up NOFX songs where you just don't know what to think! But hey, is there really anything wrong with "feeding a Tic-Tac to a whale"?....
10. "So Long and Thanks For All the Shoes", an album released in 1998, featured the song "Falling in Love". Is it true that the song contains the lyrics "Cathay de I miss your smell"?

Answer: False

"Cathay de I miss your smell" is actually from the song "The Desperation's gone". "Falling in Love" has a small set of very simple lyrics:
"Blast oxygen masks, smoke filled cabin
Depressurize, don't be afraid, hold onto me
We're goin down, but not our love

Death don't seem so bad, 'cause I'm with you
My only love, so close your eyes
Kiss me one last time, We're gonna
Die, but not our love, not our love"
11. The year of the millenium, 2000. "Pump Up The Valuum" is released, and features the song "Clams Have Feelings Too (Actually They Don't)". In the song, what don't you see being cut off and pickled in mason jars?

Answer: An old man's feet

It's very simple, clams don't have feelings because they don't have central nervousness! I suppose this song is referring to similarities between humans, and their animal kingdom prey. Why do we kill them when we are apparently in many ways, similar?
12. 2001 saw the release of "Surfer", which featured the "New Happy Birthday Song?". Finish these lyrics from the song: "You're getting older, but not much _____ ".

Answer: better

Well I'm sure somebody out there thought that "Happy Birthday" should be re-designed... I just don't know if they had the same vision as NOFX. The entire song goes:
"Happy birthday, you're not special. You're getting older, but not much better. We all want to embarrass you, that's why we're singing this song. So happy funking birthday. You're not special. You're not special."

(These lyrics were ammended for use on FunTrivia)
13. 2002, the year of "45 or 46 Songs That Weren't Good Enough To Go On Our Other Records". Which song featured the lyrics "Ronald McDonald - Paint a happy face on a McMurderer"?

Answer: Zyclone B. Bathouse

That's right, this album actually contained over 40 songs, all made throughout NOFX's career. "Zyclone B. Bathouse" is one of my personal favourites. The song asks one simple question: "Who's more decent; One man or a dozen men? The answer: One man!".
14. In 2003 came the "Regaining Unconsciousness" EP. In the song "Franco Un-American", why is he wearing uncomfortable shoes?

Answer: globalization

The song "Franco Un-American" is basically one big rant about the world's biggest problems, and how they relate to Americans socially. It's pretty basic, he's been told that so many things are bad, that he can't even wear comfortable shoes anymore, because of how they are made.
15. "War on Errorism" was released in 2003. In the song "Idiots are Taking Over", what is being fancied over reason?

Answer: faith

The song "Idiots are Taking Over" basically refers to the way NOFX feels about the changes in power taking place around the world, specifically in the US.
