Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Atomic Dog" was a single from the 1982 album "Computer Games", by which rapper who sounds like he was related to a USA president?

Answer: George Clinton

George Clinton, (born 1941) a contemporary of James Brown and Sly Stone, is considered one of the innovators and leaders of Funk. "Atomic Dog", released in 1982, reached top spot in the USA R&B charts as well as number 38 in the dance chart.
2. Who was it that sang about "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo"?

Answer: Lobo

Roland Kent LaVoie (born 1943) uses the stage name, Lobo. The thing I find strangest about this song, "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo", is that only the dog is named! The single was taken from his, "Introducing Lobo" album and it reached top spot on the USA Easy Listening chart in 1971.
3. "Crocodile Rock" was a hit for which of the following?

Answer: Elton John

"I remember when rock was young, me and Suzie had so much fun!"

"Crocodile Rock" was written and recorded by Elton John in 1972.

Jimmy Nail wrote and recorded "Crocodile Shoes" in 1994 for the television series of the same name.
4. Who had a "Little Red Rooster" in 1964?

Answer: Rolling Stones

Willie Dixon wrote the song in 1961 and it was recorded first by Howlin' Wolf.

At the start of their recording career, The Rolling Stones were a Blues band edging towards Rock music. "Little Red Rooster" reached number one on the British chart, the first Blues song to do so.
5. Who released the single "Union of the Snake" from the animal titled album "Seven and the Ragged Tiger"?

Answer: Duran Duran

6. Who gave us the instruction, "Kiss That Frog"?

Answer: Peter Gabriel

"Kiss That Frog" was a 1993 single for Peter Gabriel. On the surface it is the retelling of "The Princess and the Frog", but digging deeper, the lyrics have an adult meaning. Various suggestions can be found online.

I believe the song's meaning to be that we take what life gives us. Do not waste it by yearning for something else. What will be will be, so do not let life drift by you.
7. Who certainly did not have "A Dog's Life", but recorded one for a film?

Answer: Elvis Presley

The song was sung by Elvis Presley in "Paradise, Hawaiian Style" where he played a happy-go-lucky pilot. In the film he was piloting a helicopter with a pack of dogs and one attractive lady for passengers, when he sang the song.
8. Who famously recorded "Cavatina" which is also known as the "Theme from The Deer Hunter" after requesting the writer to rearrange the original piece?

9. "Mustang Sally" is a R&B song that has been covered by many artists, but who had the earliest success with it in 1966?

Answer: Wilson Pickett

Mack Rice wrote and recorded "Mustang Sally" in 1965. Since then it has been recorded by such diverse acts as Tom Jones, Bruce Springsteen, Gerard Butler and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
10. "Love Cats" was an instruction from which group?
