This song was the B-Side to the hit single, "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" from their sophomore 1985 album, "Songs from the Big Chair". In "Pharaohs" you can hear the shuffle beat that made "EWTRTW" distinctive as well as tinges of Roland's guitar solo towards the end.

Answer: Siouxsie & the Banshees

An interesting fact about Siouxsie and the Banshees is that they had a knack for picking guitarists with the same first name. John McKay (The Scream, Join Hands), John McGeoch (Kaleidoscope, Juju, A Kiss in the Dreamhouse), John Valentine Carruthers (Tinderbox, Through the Looking Glass), Jon Klein (Peepshow, Superstition, The Rapture).

The only official studio album released by the group that didn't have a John playing guitar on the majority of the tracks is 1984s "Hyaena" which featured Robert Smith of The Cure taking over those duties.
