Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was Maroon 5 formerly known as in the latter half of the 1990's?

Answer: Kara's Flowers

Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden and Ryan Dusick were friends since Junior High School and decided to form a band. Their first show was played at the Whisky in Los Angeles on 16th September, 1995. The audience were amazed by the energy they showed onstage.
2. In which year did the Maroon 5's former band decide to end their deal with "Reprise Records"?

Answer: 1999

Whilst playing as Kara's Flowers they were renowned for their mix of punk, pop and rock music. They became a favourite in the college market with the release of their debut album, "The Fourth World" in 1997. With the release of the album, they set out on the road playing with bands like Reel Big Fish and Goldfinger.

In 1999, they left their record contract to find and start a new musical direction.
3. When they renamed themselves Maroon 5, they added a new band member. What instrument did he play?

Answer: Guitar

Maroon 5 added the extra guitar of James Valentine to the original of just Adam Levine. Levine now has the opportunity to focus more on singing, as he is relieved of such a heavy duty. The band now has five members and the wizardry of Valentine now gives the songs of Maroon 5 extra character.
4. What is the name of Maroon 5's first album?

Answer: "Songs About Jane"

Their first album has been a huge hit in countries spanning from the US to as far away as Australia. The album contains twelve songs each with the lead singer conveying the story, and the instruments playing with great control in the background.

Answer: It went platinum.

Their album has been a huge success. "Harder To Breathe" and "This Love" went Top 10 on the singles chart and by January 2004, the album was platinum. I believe the best three songs are within the first four songs of the album, however all of the songs are very good and are soothing for the ears.

Answer: Urban and Hip-Hop
