Answer: Queens of the Stone Age - "No One Knows"

"No One Knows" was the first single from the album "Songs for the Deaf". In 2003, it became the band's first song to reach number one on the US Modern Rock charts. Queens of the Stone Age are the fourth American band or artist to top the countdown.

1200 Techniques managed only one entry, with "Karma" making number four.

The Foo Fighters had entries with "The One", "All My Life", "Times Like These", and "Disenchanted Lullaby" at numbers 11, 13, 23, and 55 respectively.
Grinspoon had entries with "Chemical Heart", "Lost Control", "No Reason", and "1000 Miles" at numbers two, 14, 15, and 47 respectively.

Answer: Nirvana

The song "You Know You're Right" was one of the band's last recording before Kurt Cobain's suicide in 1994. It was held back due to a legal dispute over its release. It reached number 12 in the countdown. Nirvana have an impressive history in the Hottest 100, reaching number one in 1991 and number one in the Hottest 100 of all time with "Smells Like Teen Spirit".
