Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In Alexandre Dumas' series, "The d'Artagnan Romances," one close friend of d'Artagnan (the hero of the series) is known as Athos. However, Athos is not this musketeer's real name. Which of these choices is the title he is actually known by?

Answer: Comte de la Fere

At the end of "The Three Musketeers", Athos takes up his title as the Comte de la Fere and adopts Raoul as the Vicomte de Bragelonne. Athos' friend Porthos is the Baron du Vallon, and Aramis is the Chevalier d'Herblay. The only musketeer without a pseudonym is d'Artagnan.
2. Joseph Alois Ratzinger became the 265th pope and ruler of The Vatican. Upon becoming pope, he adopted a new name to fit his new position. What was it (include the number)?

Answer: Pope Benedict XVI

Ratzinger, the pope of the Catholic church succeeded John Paul II on his death in April 2005. The Pope's residence is The Vatican.
3. Julius Henry Marx was better known as...

Answer: Groucho Marx

All of these, except one, are a part of the Marx Bros. They were a comedy group. Groucho Marx left us with the ever famous glasses, mustache, and nose disguise. The only one of these that is not a 'Grouch' is Karl Marx. Karl Marx could be argued as the man who developed communist theory.
4. The star of "The Bourne Identity", "The Bourne Supremacy", and "The Born Ultimatum" is Jason Bourne, a man brainwashed into becoming an assassin and the name Jason Bourne. What was his real name before his brainwashing, the name he had before he joined the group known as "Treadstone"?

Answer: David Webb

*THIS IS THE MOVIE VERSION OF EVENTS*

While working an assassination mission, Jason Bourne/David Webb suffers a severe bout of amnesia, forgetting his mission and his history. The rest of the movie (as well as the series) has him trying to regain his memory while avoiding the multiple assassins sent after him.
5. In "Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows", which character goes underground as Romulus?

Answer: Remus Lupin

I'd guess that Remus chose Romulus because of the ancient Roman myth of the brothers Romulus and Remus who founded Rome. He calls himself Romulus on the Harry Potter radio show that is hosted by Lee Jordan.
6. Manfred von Richthofen used a nom de guerre. What was it?

Answer: The Red Baron

Snoopy, as the World War I ace pilot, flies his doghouse against the Red Baron. Von Richthofen has often been credited as one of the best fighter pilots. He and his Flying Circus defended the German ground forces from the air. On April 21, 1918 he was killed whilst pursuing a Canadian pilot over Allied lines.
7. The famed "Star Wars" pilot Baron Soontir Fel married a Wynssa Starflare. Whose sister was she?

Answer: Wedge Antilles

Actually, Wedge Antilles is the only one who has a living sister. Tycho's family was killed in the Destruction of Alderaan. I'm really not sure about Derek Klivian's and Wes Janson's families, but since Wookiepedia never mentions them, I'll assume that they are only children.
8. Dr. Seuss's real name was:

Answer: Theodore Geisel

L. Frank Baum wrote "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." Eric Arthur Blair wrote "Nineteen Eighty-Four" and "Animal Farm" using the nom de plume of George Orwell. HG Wells is not a pseudonym and wrote as HG Wells. Theodore Geisel wrote uncomplicated stories such as "Green Eggs and Ham", "Fox in Sox" and "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" usually all rhyming.
9. What was the Buddha's original name?

Answer: Siddhartha Gautama

The Dalai Lama is considered the leader of Tibetan Buddhism.

Siddhartha Gautama created Buddhism when he tried several different forms of spirituality and found each too "radical" for him. He is called the Buddha as a reference to the Bodhi tree he sat under until he reached enlightenment, or nirvana. He died when he ate some poisoned mushrooms. (The mushrooms were not poisoned, they were just "detrimental to his health.")
10. One of these following plays was written by Jean Baptiste Poquelin. Which is it?

Answer: Tartuffe

Poquelin is the real name of the playwright Moliere. Les Miserable and Notre-Dame de Paris are both by Victor Hugo. I don't think either of them are actually plays. Notre-Dame de Paris is the inspiration for the Disney movie The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. Waiting for Godot is by Samuel Beckett, who is not French.
