Answer: Detroit Red Wings

Detroit finished in first place in the Central Division and the Western Conference. They tied with the Buffalo Sabres in points for the entire league. Detroit played the eighth place team, Calgary Flames. Detroit won the series 4 games to 2 games. Toronto is in the Eastern Conference.

Answer: Florida Panthers

Buffalo Sabres, New Jersey Devils, Atlanta Thrashers, Ottawa Senators, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lighting and the New York Islanders, all made the 2007 playoffs in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta was the only team that got swept in the first round by the New York Rangers. Pittsburgh lost to Ottawa. New Jersey defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning, and Buffalo beat the New York Islanders.

The 2007 season was a close race. The Ottawa Senators had three players all finishing with 22 points (Daniel Alfredsson, Jason Spezza and Dany Heatley). Detroit had the fourth and sixth spot (Nicklas Lidstrom and the "awesome" Pavel Datsyuk while Anaheim had the fifth spot(Ryan Getzlaf). Anaheim again had places seven, eight and nine. (Corey Perry, Teemu Selanne and Chris Pronger). Daniel Briere of the Buffalo Sabres did have the same number of points of the previous three but has less goals and a lower +/- than the rest.

It was Marty Turco of the Dallas Stars who played 7 games and had the lowest GAA at 1.30. Mikka Kiprusoof had a GAA of 2.81 in 6 games while Dominik Hasek and Jean-Sebastien played 18 games and their GAA was 1.79 and 1.97, respectively.
