Team Liquigas won the team time trial, which gave them the lead in the team classifaction. They beat out Euskaltel-Euskadi by eight seconds to win the stage. Filippo Pozatto received the golden jersey, the leader overall in the Vuelta a España.

The breakaway included Jesús Rosendo, Mikhail Ignatyev, Cyril Lemoine, and Egoi Martínez. Jesús Rosendo rode for Andalucía-Cajasur in the 2008 Vuelta. Mikhail Ignatyev rode for Tinkoff Credit Systems. Cyril Lemoine rode for Crédit Agricole is the 2008 Vuelta a España. Egoi Martínez rode for Euskaltel-Euskadi. Alejandro Valverde won the stage by 2 seconds. Thanks to the bonus seconds you get for crossing the line, Alejandro took the lead from Filippo Pozatto.

Pretty soon the peloton, led by Team Astana, would catch the four riders. Ezequiel Mosquera, of Euskaltel-Euskadi, would be the first of the peloton to cross the line after Alessandro. Egoi Martínez took the golden jersey from Levi. In the overall standings, Egoi had a lead of 11 seconds over Levi after Stage 9 was through.
10. Stage 10 came down to a sprint finish. Who won it?

Answer: Sebastien Hinault

Sébastien would win the sprint finish. Zaragoza, where Stage 10 ended, had hosted stage finishes 47 times, including this one. Levi would retain the gold for another day, as Stage 10 came to a close.
