Night Raid was not much of a racehorse, but his sire Radium was the winner of a Doncaster Cup and a Goodwood Cup in England, and Spearmint, an Epsom derby winner was the sire of Night Raid's dam.

She was a great grand-daughter of St. Simon. She had twelve foals, eight by Night Raid, and only Phar Lap passed the test.
