Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Where did the word 'bionic' come from?

Answer: It was a combination of biology and electronics.

In the 'Bionic Woman' episode 'Biofeedback', Jaime mentioned that the word was a combination of biology and electronics.
2. Who was the bionic guinea pig, the first recipient of this brand-new science?

Answer: Max

The doctor tried his new science on a badly-injured dog before attempting it on a human being. The first human recipient was Steve.
3. How did Barney Hiller's bionic construction differ from Steve or Jaime's?

Answer: All four of his limbs were bionic.

Barney's bionic replacement (which followed his race car accident) consisted of his receiving two bionic arms and two bionic legs. His cost was thus $1,000,000 more than Steve's.
4. What happened to Maximillion that made him a candidate for bionic replacement experimentation?

Answer: He was injured in a lab fire.

Max was badly injured in a lab fire and became the 'guinea pig' for the first-ever bionic replacement surgery. Max received four legs and a jaw. Oscar Goldman joked that a bionic jaw was the one thing they knew Jaime would never need.
5. Who was the genius behind bionic replacement surgery?

Answer: Rudy Wells

Dr. Rudy Wells performed his bionic replacement surgery on all four cyborgs: first Max, then Steve, then Barney and finally Jaime.
6. How fast could Steve and Jaime run?

Answer: 60 mph

It was revealed in the pilot episode for 'Six Million Dollar Man' that the maximum bionic speed was 60 mph. It was also mentioned again in several other episodes, including 'Return of the Bionic Woman (Part 1)'.
7. How many bionic centers/facilities did Rudy Wells have?

Answer: Three

It was revealed in several episodes that he had three - one in Washington DC, one in Los Angeles and one in Colorado Springs.
8. Rudy Wells never lost a patient on the operating table.

Answer: False

Jaime Sommers died on the operating table, when her body rejected her bionics. Michael Marchetti was able to bring her back to life with his newly-developed cryogenic therapy.
9. Whose bionic implants were the most expensive?

Answer: Barney Hiller

Steve's bionics cost six million dollars. Oscar told Jaime that she cost "not quite six million; your parts are smaller" and Barney revealed to Steve that his bionics cost seven million dollars. Max cost one million dollars; thus the name "Maxamillion".
10. Did Steve Austin and Jaime Sommers ever actually get married?

Answer: Yes

Their original engagement and plans to marry were dashed when Jaime developed amnesia and no longer remembered Steve or their lives together. They did not become engaged again until 1989 (in 'Bionic Showdown'). They were finally united in marriage in 1994 (in 'Bionic Ever After').
