Answer: Horse

In the beginning of this episode, a mounted police officer in Central Park by a sniper rifle while trying to help an old man being mugged, and the horse he was riding on was hit by a car. While investigating the body and the officer's bulletproof vest, Mac determines that the bullet entered the body at a thirty degree angle.

Therefore, the bullet should have hit the horse he was riding on, Officer Blue. At the stable, they perform a cat scan on the horse (who survived the accident) after tranquilizing it and taking it to the lab and find the bullet, though to remove it could kill the horse.
2. Where was the sniper shot fired from?

Answer: The Patterson Building

After taking a 360 degree image of the crime scene in Central Park, Danny places the police officer and discovers that the sniper shot came from the Patterson Building on the edge of the park. When they investigate the ninth floor offices, they find gunshot residue on a window ledge and a thumbprint on the window.

Meanwhile, Aiden is given a new homicide case in Queens. The victim is a kid named Lenny Starks, and when she checks the body, she finds orange plastic (from a pair of sunglasses) and burns all over the victim's face.
3. What does Richard Smockton suffer from?

Answer: Grave's Disease

After running the fingerprint through the system, Mac and Stella come up with a match in Richard Smockton who claims to have rented the building for his animal rights society, but lost it when his lease was up. Smockton wears a turtleneck sweater when he's take into custody, but Mac finds that Smockton wears it to cover up a goiter caused by hyperthyroidism. Smockton also has Graves Disease which symptoms include shaky hands and blurred vision. Due to this, Mac concludes that Smockton could not have picked off a moving target from so far away. Meanwhile, Mac and Danny obtain a surveillance tape and they find that the man trying to mug an old man in the park was named William Chancey. William Chancey's cell phone was also found at the crime scene.
4. How long did Willie Chancey's phone call in Central Park last?

Answer: 18 minutes

After finding William Chancey, Flack brings him in for interrogation, but they are forced to let him go when his attorney arrives. Meanwhile, the CSIs use GPS to trace a disposable phone all the way to a flight at La Guardia Airport where they find Jerald Brown, who currently has the cell phone that was in contact with Willie Chancey's phone.

When they take him in for interrogation, he denies knowing Chancey and they get his fingerprints.
5. What substance is found on Lenny Starks' burnt skin?

Answer: Baker's yeast

When this is found along with a sample of cornmeal, Aiden heads to a local pizza parlour to investigate. She finds orange plastic on the door of the oven (from the sunglasses) and one of the employees has second-degree burns on her hands that have been made in the past twenty-four hours.

While investigating the ovens, Aiden is approached by the owner who tells her to leave. When she sees the other patrons acting odd, she decides to pack up and head back to the lab.
6. What material was the bullet, used by the sniper, made from?

Answer: Tungsten

After creating a replica of the bullet used by the shooter (without placing the horse into surgery), Mac checks it on a chart and discovers the make of the bullet and gun that the bullet was in. An armor-piercing tungsten-carbide bullet was used in the murder. Stella wonders why Mac is delaying the surgery to remove the bullet from the horse and he says that he needs the gun to match the bullet's patterns.

When she investigates Jerald Brown's apartment, she finds various pieces of a gun and assembles it.

It matches the gun needed to fire the bullets. Now they just need the horse's bullet.
7. Where didn't Stella locate a piece of the assault rifle?

Answer: Under a sofa

After locating and assembling the gun, Mac is unable to postpone Officer Blue's surgery any longer and he allows the people who donated Blue to the NYPD to see him for what may be the last time.
Meanwhile, Aiden returns to the lab and tells Mac about the pizzeria on Lexington that she was lucky to leave. Aiden later returns to the pizzeria with members of the NYPD for back-up.
8. Does Blue survive the surgery to remove the bullet?

Answer: Yes

Although they were worried that the horse might not make it, doctors successfully removed the bullet from Blue's back. Unfortunately, the bullet does not match up with the bullets from Jerald Brown's gun. Mac soon gets a call from Flack who has found William Chancey's car at the airport. Within the trunk is Chancey's dead body.

When they take it to the lab, they notice that the car's air conditioning was at full blast, and so was the volume for the stereo system.
9. How did Danny open the secret compartment in William Chancey's car?

Answer: By honking the horn

When the small compartment in the back was opened, Stella and Danny discovered another assault rifle in pieces in the back.
Meanwhile, Aiden discovers that the pizzeria girl's burnt fingers fill in the area on Lenny Starks' face that wasn't burnt, but she could not have slammed his head with the oven door. It turns out that the pizzeria owner who forced Aiden out of the building killed Lenny by slamming his head in the oven door causing severe head trauma. The pizza girl tried to stop him and burnt her hand on the oven in the process.
10. Who shot and killed the officer in Central Park?

Answer: Jerald Brown

After analyzing the prints on the gun and discovering that the bullet from the gun matched Officer Blue's bullet, Mac pulls Jerald Brown in for an interrogation. It turns out that Chancey and Brown worked together to kill the officer because Jerald's father was arrested and killed in prison. Chancey wanted to go to the police after the murder, so Brown shot him in the back of his car and hid the gun in the secret compartment.
